surely dropping a spider from a great height would kill it? surely they arent like cats!!!
i just got rid of one from our room (mine and my fiances) its was medium length, was gonna splat it nitshe made me catch it in a cup and throw it out the window, and so my question again............ do spiders go splat when they fall far? i didnt even see it fall so it may be here still............somewhere |

Your answer is no..Spiders are too light to feel an impact from only 2-3 stories up plus their innards are gooey since they have exoskeletons. That's why they pop or crack when ya squish-em.
Now if you were REAL high up the big ones like tarantulas and what have you may splat but web spinning spiders can actually expel some web and create a parachute to slow their fall using a drag coeficient or what-have-you. |

Clowns (who hasn't been here for a long while) has spit live crickets for competetion. He won, too.
I've downed another large one since the last post. A banana spider. Those are freaking huge. It tried to look all innocent, too, but the WD 40 knew that it was evil. |
