Dir En Grey, Morning Musume, Gackt, Ayumi Hamasaki, X Japan, DJ Krush, Puffy Amiyumi, Hicksville, and Dual Jewel are all worth check out. But it bears noting you've never really expereicned Japanese music until you've been to a concert. I had water spit on me by a cross-dressing pretty boy bass player with spikey pink hair and 3' platform shoes.

Malice Mizer, Gackt, X Japan, Ayumi Hamasaki, Hitomi, Do As Infinity, Hide, Maaya Sakamoto, Melocure, Dragon Ash, Utada Hikaru, Luna Sea, D-Shade, Drumkan, Puffi Ami Yuumi ( I gots two of their cds YIPPEE ) Duel Jewel... and lots of miscellaneous stuff. 
BUT I'm a huger fan of JRock. I LOVE DIR EN GREY. It's my current obsession, I'm sorry.
I have over 60 songs of Ayumi Hamasaki, and I have over 30 songs of Dir en Grey, over 20 songs of Gackt, and tons of the others too. I R FREAK |

Most J-Music I get is due to anime, but my fav bands have to be The Pillows and Do as Infinity, lol. Also, Morning Musume seems to be pretty neat. |

 !! I just ordered this really expensive Dir en Grey concert DVD!! It has like over 30 songs that were performed and a bunch of other stuff. And I haven't heard L' arc~en~ciel mentioned yet!! I love them!! And gackt...he is human perfection..if maybe he got a lil muscle on him. But he works for that lean body.

^O^ I love J-rock, can't live without it lol. Lets see...I'm a BIG fan of X-Japan, they are really one of the first bands that introduced me to J-music, I also like Malice Mizer, Moix de Moix, TM Revolution, Gackt, Dir en Grey...Larc en ciel is pretty good but I prefer Hydes solo works.
I can be on and off with J-pop but I absolutely LOVE Ayumi Hamasaki. |

eh...i dont really like either. The only J-rock song ive ever kind of liked was the music at the end of every episode of Trigun. Besides that, i dont consider the beginnings of Trigun and Cowboy bebop to be J-rock, so nyah
But yea...give me the good ol american stuff anyday

If ya wonder, the song is "H.T." by Tsuneo Imahori(the Trigun theme that is).
Right now I'm particularly taken with L'Arc En Ciel, Hysteric Blue, Flow, and Orange Range. Gackt is also godly... I got to see him do U+K and Vanilla live. ^^ (Any Gackt fan will know what those mean) |
