A Quest For Answers

[Shandriz]

"I know your kind, and that is enough for me." She lowered her cowl a bit more so that her violet eyes were nearly covered, but they were quite obviously watching Rayne, who seemed to her the more overtly dangerous of the two. Still, she was not ignoring the danger one who seemed to be so 'innocent' could present either. He could just be taking her off her guard, afterall.

"And none of your flattering speech will sway me. I have no care for my people, and I have less care for you. Leave."

[Dantrel Rayne]

"Flattering speech? Hardly. I merely wish you to know that I bare no ill will towards you because attacking me would be a grave mistake on your part and I would hate to ruin that pretty little face of yours."

Most people would look at the opponent's face for signs as to what they are thinking and when they will attack. Rayne, however, had seen cold-faced fighters and twisted men that kept the same, disgusting smirk on their faces when there were talking or trying to tear out your vitals.

"And I am not human. I was not raised by humans, I do not hold the humans' grudges. Speak of my kind only when you know what that is."

[Zzyxx]

"Hey, I'm no Faerie Elf either! My kind like yours are hated by them, but my kinda have an extra enemy, the Sea Elves. Like i said before, i am a frost elf. a being of the ice and cold. Again, I, like Rayne, mean you no ill will. In fact, i think i am about to collapse from over exersion in the cave system you call home. WE had to kill a dragon. NOw, if you would be so kind...."

Zzyxx speach was cut of when his eyelids fluttered and he passed out, face first, onto the ground. Variah quickly moved to cover his now exposed back so no harm would come to Zzyxx. She growled fiercely at anything that strayed too close or within ten feet of Zzyxx.

"You look human, and that is enough for me." It really did not matter how human or inhuman he was-- any would try to kill her. Drow too, now that the thought came to her. Afterall, had she not betrayed Lolth?


"You are not Drow, and therefore you -are- a Faerie Elf," she informed the Frost Elf coldly. Suki meowed when the elf fell to the floor, though, and went beside him, somehow managing to evade the wolf's attacks.

Shandriz sighed,
"Fine. You may rest here. But you must leave as soon as your companion is well," she told Rayne, lifting her hood from her head and letting her silver hair fall down around her shoulders once more,
"Come."

She motioned ahead of her. She was not stupid enough to leave potential enemies at her back.

[Dantrel Rayne]

Rayne didn't walk with Shandriz, noting that she didn't keep her eye off of him. He turned to her, eyes now focused on her hair.

"I have no need for rest and I certainly do not wish to stay here. You should watch the boy and that wretched mutt, if you are worried about your life."

With that, Rayne transformed into Azurel and flew off back towards home. He had been on this adventure for too long and he had enough loot to bring back to Ultra.

Zzyxx came to a few hours later. He sat up suprised that teh white cat had evaded Variah. He rubbed his head.

"I feel like i just drank myself stupid with fae spirits... Oh, m'lady, where has my companion gone? He was guiding my to Norwind. I understand if you wish for seclusion, but i must know the way to Norwind. I need to find the wizard Therin."

Zzyxx took off his belt (his weapons were attatched to them) and threw it towards (but not at) Shandriz.

"Good will, now you can be guarenteed that i won't try to kill you. Variah, don't try anything either."
