Favorite FF game? That's a though choice? They're all really good in different ways. I mean, FFV was a trainer's paradise (I've spent fifty hours doing nothing but train and I STILL haven't had every character gain every ability). FFVIII was, judging from the battle and leveling system, a story game. FFIX was an omage to the games long past. FFX was, in many ways, an expression of what games would be like from then on. In the end, however, it's usually the most well rounded games that stick with everyone. FFIV, FFVI, FFVII, FFX, all these are well balanced, fun, engaging games. FFIV has a great plot and great characters and a whole complete world, plus many small nuances and sidequests. It's in the top two of my list, though I don't know which one. FFVI, again, is the culmination of the SNES RPG era, and thusly has all the best stuff of the SNES RPGs rolled into one, with all the flaws sanded out. It'd be number three probably, or number four. FFVII was the first of the PS games, and thusly has a quite innocence and nastalgia attached to it, and besides that it is a very good game, going where no game had gone before, into the workings of the human mind and the nature of evil, this game is either third or fourth as well. Finally, FFX, a game that was beautifully crafted to look good, sound good and play good. The characters are real, the voice acting realy bring the characters to life, and each one is engaging. Love the battle system and just had a lot of fun with it, plus (for the trainers) there's a near endless training opprotunity, not to mention really long crazy sidequests. This is the other FF that fights for #1 in my mind. But, ultimately, I love them all. Heck, I like almost ANY RPG, and these are some of the finest.
