Well...I just wanted to say I will be going tomorrow night (and missing my last train just to see it-meaning I'll be stuck out and about in the city tomorrow night) to see Pirates in Roppongi. I'm pretty pumped, partially because of the movie and partially because I know I'll get to brag to all my friends that I saw it first^.^

Ahhh, the joys of working in a building with a cinema.
Just saw it, The films usualy get delivered a couple of days before we open for them, so we need to 'test' them) and, all I can say is WOW.
You'll all enjoy this I think, it does NOT dissapoint. |

THANK YOU, Robb. I've been terrified the past couple of days that it's going to end up really lame. And I'd cry. xD Because I love Pirates too much for the ending to be lame.
I want them to consider doing more, but business-wise, if this is still good, they'll probably be thinking about stopping. You want to end on a good note, afterall.
Maybe this'll spawn more pirate movies, though! We could use some of those! |

One thing I will say (dont want to comment too much on storyline, so will talk about this) is the fight scenes in htis are ALOT better than in no. 2, dont get me wrong, 2 was ok (the giant wheel springs to mind) but some of the sword fighting in this is of a really good quality, which I appreciatte alot =)
And, as for the more pirate movies, not gonna give away anything, but they certainly leave it open for more films at the end. |

My guess is if this does well it will go the route that Spiderman and X-Men appear to be taking...they'll be made until they stop making money. That can be a good or a bad thing. One the one hand, you'll have a steady stream of pirate movies (of which there are not enough of). But on the other hand, as they make more and more, it will become increasingly harder to keep the same actors, and the quality will likely drop from film to film until they're terrible.
This is, however, all theoretical. |

That's why I'm sort of hoping this is the last of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, and they start making random ones afterwards-- sort've like what they're doing with X-men with the Magneto movie and stuff.
That way if they lose someone it won't kill them. |
