Being someone who enjoys sports of all sorts, be they gravity-bound or otherwise, I can certainly take a sports reporter job, but I'll be mostly covering Miniopian sports made up in my head or the occasional Gunbound game. Maybe a DDR tournament here and there, if someone gives me summaries. |

Sports with Silver Adept. Shandriz in the KPOM weather chopper. Cooking reports with Tobias. Anime reporting with Terin. Also joining us is Reverend and GAAZ in the Debate Room, and field reporters Lews and Ultrawolf. And battle's handled by Azurel.
Excel: I am Excel Zero, and this is Suna and Demonic coming to you live from the studio.

Our top story tonight kicks off with the completion of the GMEZ Bracket. In stunning fashion, The Reverend won the championship by fighting a hard battle against Rayne. More on that later tonight when Azurel covers the other brackets.
Also tonight we'll have weather, the Anime report, and sports.

The camera switches to Azurel's corner. The backdrop is a collage of several of the more well-known fighters in miniopia. Azurel seems a bit uncomfortable with his large wingspan in the small corner of the studio, so they constantly move around during each of his segments. He shuffles a few papers, not yet used to the camera switch pattern. From behind the cameras, someone whispers "Azurel!". His demon ears perk up and he looks forward, noticing the large, orangish light on the top of the camera directly in front of him.
"OH! Sorry about that. Yes, our top story tonight--Rev's win over Rayne in the GMEZ bracket--is also my largest story as a battle correspondent tonight. I'm sorry to say that my counterpart did not go all of the way through the bracket, however he is indifferent to the entire thing. The Reverend deserved his win, he was generally stronger than Rayne in all of the aspects that mattered, as well as having Mod on his side. Maybe if I start believing in Mod, I'll have that much more luck and strength."
Azurel pauses and leans forward a little, obviously listening to something his director has to say.
"Very good. Ladies and gentlemen, it seems we have clips from the interviews of both fighters before the final fight in the GMEZ bracket. Excel was in the field at the time and handled both interviews, let's take a look."
The camera shifts right until Azurel is on the far left side of the screen, his wing going off camera. A small screen appears to the right of the screen on the televisions of viewers. At first, it just shows the words "GMEZ Bracket". After a moment, the first clip begins, taking up the entire screen.

Rayne ”Every time I saw blood.”

Excel “What do you think are your chances in the final battle?”
Rayne “He is a tough opponent, winning or losing won't matter in this fight.”
Excel “I don’t want to take up any more of your time. Do you have any final comments?”
*Rayne pauses for a moment and gets up and leaves without another word*
*Excel turns to the camera*
Excel “Strong words from a strong fighter. Tonight we will have an interview with Reverend and we’ll take a look back on the fights that led up to this event. From the Aero Arena, this is Excel for Miniopia Morning News. Back to you Sakura” |

Excel "Rev I was wondering if we could ask some questions."

Excel "How did you feel you faired when you first began?
Rev "First, let me say thank you Excel for letting me talk with you. It's always nice to unwind before a fight. Because, to be honest, I'm a nervous wreck beforehand. It doesn't matter the fight, or the opponent, I am a nervous wreck and a basket case before the match begins."
Excel "What skills would you say helped the most in your fights?"
Rev "If there is one thing I had a lot of when I was young, it was time. I like to fight where I can take any punishment thrown at me, and hit when it's going to do the most damage possible. I might not start the fight, but I will finish it."
Excel "Rev, many millions have watched you closely and chosen you as a hometown hero of sort. What fighting moment was most memorable to you?"
Rev "Oh Mod, there are so many. But to be honest, I'd have to say it was the first round, when I finally beat Musashi Daigro. You see, after my first tournament where he knocked me out, I secluded myself from the world. It was just me, Aftershock, Surbifeh, and Mod. I worked hard to identify where the holes in my fighting skills were. And wouldn't luck have it, but the guy I've lost twice to is who I fight first round. But I was graced with a win, rewarded for my hard work, and got to advance."
Excel "When you started, did you ever think you would get this far?"
Rev "In all honesty, no. I thought there was no way I'd ever beat Lord Shinobish, and then my double Terin."
Excel "Is there anything that you will you do differently in your final battle?
Rev "Up to now, I've not relied much on using my powers of Order emmisary Aftershock or Chaos emmisary Surbifeh. But now I must face Rayne, a champion of the Void, the force diametrically opposite to Mod. If I am not careful enough, or get too rash, I may easily fall victim to his power"
Excel "What do you think are your chances in the final battle?"
Rev "Well, it all comes down to Mod. If the will of Mod is for me to defeat our bitter enemy, then I shall prevail. I've been delivered through my rival, my double, and one of the martial masters of this land. I can only hope I shall be as blessed in the coming conflict."
Excel "Do you have any last comments?"
Rev "I can't think of any more really. Just be sure to make a contribution to your local Mod Shrine, they don't stay open for long otherwise"
Excel "There you have it folks. A man, a myth, a blessed legend in the arena." |
"Thank you, Excel."
Azurel turns from facing the small window that doesn't exist in the studio and faces the camera that centers on him once again.
"The arena was quite a sight, a marvel of technology. The cage amplified both fighter's power, I had no idea such devices existed in this world. Rayne, of course, complained about it the entire time, saying that he didn't need any machine to augment his power.
The match started off very well for the Reverend. Hit after hit, Rayne got "pwned" as Demonic would say. Rayne recovered with two of his own attacks, the first seemed to be more flashy than powerful. Nothing seemed to stop the Reverend. Two Chaos Lightning bolts and then the blunt side of a mace, I'm surprised Rayne was alive at the end of the battle. Rayne finally pulled out his weapon, Katre, and as the two weapons clashed, the sky roared. We had a few members of the audience who got sent to the infirmary tent after that attack, which is rather ironic considering neither of the fighters hurt eachother at that time. Rayne, almost dead, cut through the Reverend, and pulled off his rare "blood tech"--both connected. A prayer to Mod, and the Revernd pulls off quite a devistating technique himself. Neither Rayne or myself knew what was going on, but Rayne knew it was the end of the fight. The volcanic cloud was too much for Rayne and he dropped to the ground, unconscious. What a great fight!"
Azurel looks over his papers, trying to prepare his throat for a bit more talking as well as looking for what stories he has left.
"Also, an update on the other brackets. The Demonic Bracket is close to closing up it's first tier of fights. A fight between Diablo and Enon, followed by Nogrick and Hoth. The Musashi Bracket has started on it's second tier. I look forward to watching and reporting on all of those fights. Last, but not least is the battle that is about to commence between Bekuki's team: Bekuki, Ultrawolf, Kai, and myself and the champion of the GMEZ Bracket himself, the Reverend. Currently, I allowed Rev to choose his preference of arena, given the number advantage we have over him. He has chosen the ruins of the Mod temple in Norwind, quite a walk. That's all I have for you guys tonight, this is Azurel, your battle correspondent."

The camera switches over to the weather station. There's a lovely map of Miniopia on the wall, but nothing else in sight. Suddenly, there's a crashing noise, and,
"Ahhh! Get away from me!" can be heard, followed by yet another crashing noise.
A moment later the Drow appears in front of the map, sweat-soaked and scimitars drawn. She narrows her eyes at someone off-screen,
"Security around here needs to be increased! That man was trying to kill me!"
"I was trying to get your autograph!" the outraged cry of a man passing by on a stretcher could be heard.
"Hmph.."
There was a few seconds of silence, in which everyone stares at Shandriz expectantly and she stares back in confusion. Then, suddenly, someone prompts,
"The weather report..."
The Drow blinks, then comprehension dawns on her face and she takes a step to the side, pointing to the map,
"Red's for really bad storms, green's for rain, and there isn't much else going on. Read it yourself."
And with that, she steps off screen. |

The camera switches to a kitchen set, lined with brand new pots and pans of the finest quality iron, steel, and aluminum. In one corner, on a back counter, a pocket-aid is mixing away, creating some fine cookie dough, whilst in a separate section, a robo-otaku is processing away at a variety of greeneries. Standing in the center set, the Wanderer himself is standing there, but not in the traditional tan trenchcoat, but a black chef jacket and white apron, chopping an onion with amazing grace, speed and alacrity. He continues to chop until further warned by the camera-man
*Tobs...your on!*
Tobias looks up at the camera, his eyes still sheltered behind the hat-brim of his tan baseball cap:
"Hello folks...welcome to the Pocket Kitchen! Here in the P.K. I'll be your host...Chef Tobias Reaver! Today...we are cutting ourselves some good old onions, preparing them to be made into Onion Rings."
Smiling, he continues: "But these are no ordinary onion rings...no, these are gonna be Holy Beer Battered Onion Rings!" *He continues to cut the vadalia onion infront of him into disks, which he pops small rings out of* "When we return...we are going to make a beer batter out of some holy sacramental whiskey. I guarentee that all you sports watchers will want to pull out your pen and papers for this meal, which we will finish with a nice complementing piece of prime rib and french fries...Vagrant style!" *he points over to a small opening that contains a small fire, with a cow roasting on a spit*
Twirling the French-knife in his hand, he latches it onto a small sheath that he has on his belt, and smiles to the camera: "SO STAY TUNED!!!!" |
