You know, I'm totally offended by a lot of this thread, particularly since I MYSELF AM GAY. For one, I'm really tired of hearing how "two women" together in sight are totally socially acceptable but two men together in sight is a freakish and horrid thing. I'm QUITE comftorable with STRAIGHT people in front of me, hugging, kissing, AND MAKING OUT IN FRONT OF ME, and I don't say a DAMN thing. I'm not at all flamboyant and I don't wear anything that a "normal" guy wouldn't: I don't like wearing make-up, I don't like drag, and I don't have a lisp, either. I'm constantly hit on by women and a lot of my friends don't know I'm gay until AFTER I tell them.

My point is that I think that's very rude for someone to claim that they're "not anti-gay" and then give a list of exceptions. Granted, I believe that intimate moments should be kept for secluded and PRIVATE areas, but to go and change an opinion just because of that? That sounds really homophobic to me, and living in TEXAS of all these damned states? I can talk.

Also, I'm very offended about referring to the "Gay Pride Parade" as "that damn gay pride parade." You don't know what "WE" had to do to even GET THAT DAMN GAY PRIDE PARADE up and operational!

Last note--to say that lesbianism is totally acceptable AGAIN is to reflect back to the Nazi point of view during the Holocaust when gay men were killed, persecuted, used as TABLES, CHAIRS, HANGING POSTS, WHIPPING BAGS, etc., and Lesbians weren't even focused as anything other than "anti-social."

I really don't mean to act so rude or anything or overstep my boundaries, but I am extremely offended by such closed minded points of views. I understand you have your opinions, but well, these were mine as well.

"I'm not racist, but ~fill in your ethnicity of choice here (plural)~ should act more ~personal ethnicity~" or
"I love my three children equally, but little Suzy is my favorite."

Unfortunately, situations aren't so many shades of gray. It's not just black and white but don't fool yourself to believe that the opinion of "anti-gay but woman on woman is cool." is not closeminded.

well, im sorry that in any way i offended you guys. i hope that u guys can forgive me. its just htat it makes me feel a little uncomfortable when you guys do your thing in front of me.

Also, ive never supported the lesbian thingy. I dont think it is decent for two girls to be kissing in front of me either. Ive never seen the excitement or stimulation in it...ever.

I just have to say, it pisses me off when i see any two people doing any forms of PDA in front of me. This is mostly because I'm a lonely 15 year old who has never had a girlfriend, hell, i hardly have had ANY friends in my life... but back to the subject, i dont have a problem with GAYS as a group, its your life and your choice what the hell can i do about it? i do however have a problem with the gays that i know, because i think they are assholes and im getting tired of being hit on because people think im gay. SOrry if you were offended, but you don't live here. You have no clue how rediculus it is sometimes. I know not all of the parades are crazy, but this one is. I'd say one reason it's like this here is cause there's a bunch of "specialty" places on the same street. Not just places aimed at gay people. I'm talking everything from an abtract art gallery to some freaky place called the dungeon that has blacked-in windows. We got an adult store, and a plce where indy bands play at. Those aren't so bad, but they tend to attract some not so nice people. They also take up all our parking spaces. Angry

In the past 5 or so years there's pretty much been something anoying or just plain bad that's happened because of all those places. At one point they were planning on tearing down everything on my street to build a damn parking lot for these places. They ended up building a smaller one towards the end of the street. Just recently (saturday to be exact) they had the brilliant idea to make this street which is basicly one lane, a two way street. They planned this like last year, but never bothered to tell any of us.

So you can see why I have some personal resentment towards the people here.

That sucks, Gryph, it really does, and it's happening all over, mostly because there are a bunch of rich hoidy toidys that don't want to have to look at the reality of real life when you're not part of the one half of one percentile with all the money. Pisses me off....
Anyway, I pretty much agree with Peppermint on this one. I mean, I know the issue is complicated, but sometimes you have to accept the whole thing or reject it, and people who say they're not anti-gay, but will watch too members of the opposite sex get it on, but can't watch the same thing with members of their own sex are VERY hypocritical.
