Time for a little honesty...
When a guy meets a girl, the first thing he sees is her LOOK(unless talking via internet/phone). You can't really blame a guy for wanting somebody that pleases his eye, since guys are more in tune with their physical attractions than girls. You can't SEE a personality, period. Your look is the first thing they see. I personally wouldn't be attracted to a female if she wasn't good-looking to me, no matter what her personality was like, but if I find her to have a shitty personality after I talk to her, then I'll quit her. With all due respect, in many, many cases, personality is discovered after feeling that the person you're talking to won't make you cringe when you face them. There's GOT TO BE some physical attraction in order for a guy to even WANT to get to know you better. There are guys who have different tastes in how they like their women to look, it's just up to you to find them.
You might just think I'm an asshole, but it's the truth. |

well no what worries me is the fact that I know most of the females on the board, and no one is ugly. I mean, just because we arent a supermodel, that means we get to be ignored? I mean, Im not going to lie, ive got some meat on my bones, and I like it that way. Thankfully, my boyfriend loves a girl with some meat, im more huggable he says, but before him, there were so many tiems men wouldnt look my way just because I wasnt a size 0 and dressing likea slut.
then no thanks, I dont want a superficial man. Ill stick to someone who has more substance and that I can get more conversation out of. I would rather be alone than have a superficial boyfriend. thats perfectly fine with me. |

I see where haterade is coming from. And in most cases, I don't believe the attraction adds up that you'd have to be a super model. Atraction and look come from the confidence and personality and some people are good at masking it up.
Even if a girl isn't the perfect size it doesn't mean she isn't attractive to someone. What haterade may not like may be severely on the palette of some other guy. "It's a matter of taste said the monkey as he bit into the soap." Attitude helps the attraction. If a girl is frowning, being pissy, has a general look of "Don't talk to me" on her face then chances are she won't be attractive.
So I agree, as shallow as it may sound, and as different as everyone's tastes are in the world, a person has to be visually attracted as well as mentally attracted. But that doesn't mean everyone's tastes are that of settling for no less than a super model.  |

I just thought i would take a look around in here and managed to make it through the whole thing alive. There are a lot of "nice" honorable men out there, most just chose to not show it. Ive shown it my entire life and equally went after females as much as they went after me. But it has taken me a lot of years to find a person that i really can love and enjoy. She isn't the best person to be with all of the time but i love somthing in her. Shes not really a super modle either. But i have always belived that its not always what is on the outside that counts. Its more of the things that you say, or do, and the way that you act that atracts men.. Me personally couldn't date a woman that dressed herself up everyday running around looking for a man. These woman try too hard and then down themselves because they dont think that they will ever find a person for them.. I can only speak for myself on this one but i would rather both find each other without looking. Then that takes away not only most of the work but the shyness that comes with asking one out. Heck i didn't even start dating the lady im with now untill i asked her dad. Corney as it sounds, i did it. Im that way. But there is always some one for every one. It just takes patience. Wake up in the morning, look at the sun and take a deep breath.. then go with it into the day.. You'll be surprised at the number of people that you will notice and find after.
PS.. i just confused myself with this post... so dont feel bad if you dont know where im coming from. I just flow. LOL

I'd never say that bigger females aren't attractive to men, because I'd be full of shit. There's a lot of men who can't stand a skinny ass girl. They like girls with meat on 'em. Me, personally, I can't stand a skinny girl, but she can't really be TOO large for me to deal with...
Fuck a supermodel. They're scared to eat a burger, and I hate that. Also, as Doot said, attitude matters QUITE a bit... I bet I wouldn't have been able to pick up a lot of the women I've met had it not been for my confidence to do so. Believe it or not, confidence can kill looks. For any guys having difficulty talking to women, I recommend you boost your confidence somehow. (Most) Women LOVE that. |

My god. Not at all corny. In fact that is the most admirable action a man can ever take is to ask permission. It shows the ultimate sign of respect to a woman's family to do so.
I remember someone asking me for permission about my sis. And I think it's absolutely the kindest gesture and one that makes you understand the personal has honest intentions.
Keep up that attistude Hoth. I swear it's a dying breed.
And haterade. No prob hon. Good thing about some of us girls out here can see things from the guy side in addition to females. Right Sci? |
