"Welcome, viewers, to the foyer of what will soon be the Norwindian Museum of Magical History. Built on the site where once sat the secondary quad of the Thaumaturgical Academy of Norwind, this building will hopefully help to bring further prestige to the budding academy. On a side note, I am told by the curator that the museum will be offering rewards for artifacts from eras past, in order to further the expansion of this up-and-coming place of learning. This is Lews Therin Mythral, live in Norwind. Thank you." Lews Therin drops the mic and practically runs off the screen, which then fades to black. His presentation was much shorter than expected.

*the camera is off, and Tobs is preparing a giant prime rib, getting the cuts ready and the herbs and spices propperly set up.*

(OOC: sorry for the double post...but this thing needs some more activity)

The camera flashes with the red light on top, signalling the 5 minute warning for Tobias. He looks up and nods in agreement, when a voice comes on the PA

"Ok Tobias, the ratings are high, but we need more activity here...the people are just not getting excited enough!"

The camera man starts the 5 count, and Tobs smiles.

"And we're back! Welcome back everyone to the P.K.! Hope you guys have some more strengthened appetites, cause we are gonna begin to rock your world now! As you can see here *points* we have a massive piece of prime rib, cut from beautifully raised and stocked miniopian cattle."

Tobias pokes the massive piece of meat with a skewer, and flips over the steak...the sound of meat seering is almost blissful in the room, and the aroma filling the area is just gorgeous.

"Now...we are going to marinade this sucker with some good ol Miniopia Blast...a seasoning ive come to develop throughout the wanderings of this countryside." Tobias sprinkles on some of the seasoning, and the smoke intensifies, creating a lush scent of herbs and spices in the air. Tobias then flips the piece of steak in the pan, letting it slap back down on the pan, and sizzling with the rest of its juices. After about 30 seconds, he pulls the rather large piece of beef off of the pan and slaps it onto the grill. "Now...we are going to put this piece of meat on the grill for two reasons: Adding that nice smoked and grilled taste and flavor, and adding the nice grill lines on the beef." He pulls the steak off, and slides it onto a white plate about 10" wide in diameter, "And with this...we are going to drizzle some southwest BBQ sauce on the plate *He swishes the sauce across, creating a beautiful alignment of steak and sauce* then we are going to place some of our onion rings around the steak in a teepee fashion *places the golden onion rings around the beef, laying each piece up against the steak* and we are going to place some parsley on the plate for presentation!" He throws some parsley on, the green color contrasting beautifully and adding a beautiful color to the whole presentation. He lays the plate out infront of the camera and smiles

"and That is all..."

The camera cuts with a picture of Tobias taking a huge bite of the steak.

President Doot and Secretary of Cool Shino have given Miniopia its first real lookat it's massive Civic Beautification project. The 2.3 million man-hour clean up begun almost a year ago and conitunes to work straight up to the deadline of middle to late September. In an interview, the Secretary of Cool claimed that they still believe they can finish in time and hope that the city will be pleased.

This is Kiyomi with today's special report about banana slugs as pets.

Banana slugs are one of nature's more interestingly coloured Mollusca species. Banana slugs, also known by their scientific name of Ariolimax columbianus, can grow up to 25 cm in length and range along the western coastal areas of the United States and Canada. They also frequent the more moist areas of Miniopia, though they are less common here than in the redwood forests of the US. They can range from greenish, pale brown, bright yellow (hence the name) with or without black spots, black with yellow spots, or even almost white. *scene goes to a pale-coloured slug* http://www.birdconservation.com/travel/_uimages/bananaslug.jpg Depending on their habitate, moisture, light, and food, they can change colour slightly as they grow.

While many people would be repulsed at the thought of keeping these creatures as a pet, they actually make good pets for those with a bend toward the unusual. They are easy to care for, can get used to being touched, and make no noise and little mess. They eat dead plant material and produce excellent fertilizer, though it would take many banana slugs to fertilize your garden. They should be kept in a glass or plastic container with moist soil, plants, and a shallow dish of water. The habitat should be sprayed with water once or twice a day to keep the moisture level high. The lungs must remain moist in order to work. Interestingly enough, the slime the slug produces actually acts to gather moisture out of the air and out of the soil. It also protects the slug from predators and helps the slug glide along the ground as it moves. Surprisingly, the slime produced from a slug is one of the best natural glues. It has a texture much like rubber cement, and the best way to remove it from your skin is to let it dry then roll it off; just like rubber cement.

Due to the slime, the container must be cleaned fairly frequently to prevent the glass from being too cloudy to see your pet.

Banana slugs are long-lived, with many reaching several years of age.

When handling your banana slug, make sure your hands are clean as salts and natural oils on your hands can harm its skin.

"I know, cause I own this place, and I've seen many of you at home around town, but you've never been in for a pint!"
*Aindriahhn moves to behind the bar*
"Now, I know, many of you are thinkin; "But is beer bad fer ya, Aindriahhn, bringer of said beer", and ya couldn't be more wrong."

"In Miniopian Sport today, the new Rules of Battle were posted a few days ago. Eager Miniopians have come to test their strengths against each other ni the new format. There will be several iterations of the Rules before a permanent system can be decided on.

One other sports score: In field hockey, University of Miniopia 3, Otaku State 0. On Saturday, U of M takes on the Blue University Megamen in football. It promises to be an exciting game."

"Here with your spotrs report, I'm Aloren Orenishi. It was a riot of a game, literally, last Saturday, as the University of Miniopia soundly threashed Blue University 49-0 in football. The Megamen fans were so upset that they began to destroy the area around them. While the riot was eventually contained, damages are expected to be in the hundreds of thousands of Pokus.

Also on Saturday, Otaku State defeated Blue in volleyball, 3-2, after a hard-fought game. Otaku State travels to U of M this Wednesday. Those are your sports highlights for now. More in a few."
