A midnight encounter

Demonic coughs, rolls over, away from Tobias and into the grass. He makes it onto his knees before he vomits again, and then again. When he speaks to Tobias, his voice is hoarse, and his throat is raw.

"Thank you, Tobias..." is all he manages before he collapses onto his side, away from his stomach's former contents, this time into a healthy and exhausted sleep.

Tobias lifts up the warrior, and sets him next to a tree: "Phew...i hope that doesnt happen again..." He walks back over to Mirai: "If anything is to happen again later tonight, we all should keep an eye on him. The most i know is that if anything, Diablo is the best to be near him if anything...cuase his fire energy could keep him alive."

Tobias sits down, and sighs a sigh of relief

Diablo Shakes Miras hand but in a testing type of way. Diablo walks over to Demonic and sits down and then egnites a few sticks on fire to warm the others."I cant be sitting here for long.. i must recover the vortex." Diablo then thinks for a few seconds and then stands up picking Demonic up and putting him over his shoulder and walks towards the gateway sitting Demonic down by it. "this gateway will give off more energy and heat than i will and im going hunting i will be back shortly." Diablo runs off grabbing his swords.

Tobias shrugs: "I guess that works"

He relaxes: "So Mirai...where do you exactly come from?"

Mirai, after resheathing Mura and Same on his back, settles down beside Tobias, finally releasing the tension built up from the night's encounter. He stares off into space, as if tapping into a life that existed long ago. "Far away, in the city of Watertown, there was a nightclub that frequented many people every night. The DJ, a guy that went by D.W., would always please the crowds with his music. Unfortunately, fate had other plans in store for him."

Mirai pulls some of the dew-soaked grass from the ground. Examining the texture and the moistness of it like an unknown thing, he casts it away. "The inhabitants of the town lived by its name. There was a significant portion of the population that were water elementals. They were very protective; they didn't like outsiders--fire and lightning elementals. Well, that fateful night, D.W., a water elemental, was caught in the middle of a freak accident. He was electrocuted."

Mirai looks downward at his hands as he forms a small orb of lightning and quickly dissolvs it. "People were sure he was killed by it, but everyone was praying that he was okay. It turned out that D.W. was, in fact, alive. 'A miracle,' some people rejoiced, but it turned out to be a curse. D.W.'s DNA, after consuming so much electricity, had been altered in a very specific way."

Mirai takes off his right gauntlet and shows his palm to Tobias. Jagged scarring laces the inside of his hand. "He became a lightning elemental."

As Mirai puts back on his right gauntlet, he lets out a sigh. "He was instantly exiled from his home, never to return. In order to protect his home, he changed his name to a name that means 'protector of the future.'"

Mirai stands up and brushes himself off. As he steps a few feet forward, feeling the cool night air, he continues to stare off into the sky. "Since that time, he has been searching the world for answers. 'Why am I here? What is my purpose?'"

He turns around to face Tobias. "It is because of this search that I stand before you now."

Diablo walks back from the shadows carring a full grown male bear on his shoulders. Diablo sets him down next to the others and begins to prpare the meat for the others. After skinning it and getting the main edible parts diablo cooks it on the fire and then sets it on a huge leaf for a plater. " its ready.." Diablo then grabs the fure and heats the skinned side and makes it into a matress and or a blanket and then grabs some meat and a leaf for a small plate and eats.

Tobias looks up into the sky: "So...you were the young one that I sensed several years ago..." Tobias looks back down: "I must say, Lightning elementals arent very common anymore, mainly because of history. I would go into it, but its a long long story, which a friend of mine located a while ago." He stares into oblivion: "It was when Mighty Wyv perished, that the spirit of lightning elementals also deteriorated." Tobias laughed a little: "But alas...im not even a lightning elemental, though powers may be decieving." Tobias stood up, and held out his hand, releasing a small orb of lightning: "But that is partially because I am too, from a strange blood line. That, and my power wasnt a product of life in this world."

Tobias sits down, and relaxes, and then looks at the young man: "Have you ever heard of the legend of The Silver Comet?"

"The Silver Comet," comes Demonic's voice from under the tree. Slowly, he stands, and walks over to Tobias. "I've heard it, but the telling was jumbled. I think you would know more about it than anyone." He looks up at Tobias's face as he speaks. There is something beneath his words that suggests he knows something of this legend that few others do.

Demonic only says as he steps away, "I want to hear the legend of The Silver Comet." He seems pouty, like a child about to whine to get what he wants; pretty close to what he is.
