Wow...I should stop by this particular forum more often. I play Magic, but I'm wary about getting into Magic Online for fear of slaying my bank account. I have been considering it though. What I do know is that Rev plays...or at least he did. Now that he's off at school, he may have gotten rid of it for the same reason I don't want to get it. But you should ask. |

I always thought that was silly.
What's the point of buying digital incarnations of my cards?
I'd rather have used some freeware p2p program to play against other people online. I remember there was one I used to use but the name slips my mind. |

I might do this. I tried for Yu-Gi-Oh online, but this looks good.
Is it "monthly" or "by game"...
Also, Magic is a good system, too...I'll just ditch the "material" cards all togehter. It's a great way for newbies to get in. |

MTG Online is the most worthless piece of ass-music I've ever heard of. You can't even transfer cards you already own to the online version. You start off with nothing, and you have to spend real, hard-earned, honest-to-god money for digital cards. They don't even send you real cards to go along with. It's completely pointless.
Apprentice is entirely free, but takes a little getting used to, and is really only good if you already know what you're doing. Apprentice won't walk you through the game. It gives you the cards and a table and that's all. Even the core rules of the game are only upheld by an honor system. Check out http://www.e-league.com for more on Apprentice, but you'll want to learn how to play in the physical realm before you go online, because online is a whole different ballgame. Good luck, though. |

there are easier ways of getting cards on there.. u don't have to buy them like normal.. people will trade ass loads of cards for just one event ticket (those are only a dollar) and people will trade like 5-10 rares just for one.
i don't like that i can't transfer my cards i already have there.. but i dont have a whole hell of alot.. and mtgo is better for me cuz i can actually find people to play and i don't have to worry about my cards gettin messed up (i had a lot at one point until my house got ahold of them) and i always have someone to play... yeah it could be better but hey it works pretty good for me...
so anyway i take it no other po's are on there? oh well...was just hoping to have some more friends to play against. |

Like I had said, I think Rev might be on it, and I have been wrestling with starting up an account. While I don't like the fact that I can't actually have the cards in real life, it is a very good tool for improving your game if you don't have people to play with competitively all the time. It is for that reason that I have considered starting it up.
Let me think about it some more, and if I decide to start up, I'll let you know and we can play. |
