Personally I feel that Professional sports players in general are really overpaid. Imagine if all that money went towards something else, something much more productive...

Don't get me wrong, I love playing sports.
I've never been much of a watcher.
I guess it's just hard for me personally to justify such an expenditure of money.

Like, they should write a check out to me.

At any rate, I agree. It really does need a salary cap, because those numbers are just out of hand. What I find funny is how many times they Yanks get their asses handed to them by the Devil Rays...who are at the bottom of the list. It just proves that you don't need such a high payroll. And according to this, it appears that the two "winning" teams right now are right in the middle of the list.

Also, this just further proves my point about the Mets. Mets fans love complaining about how they Yankees are only good because they have so much money. And yet, they're #3 on the list and haven't performed.

Or maybe I just like getting a rise out of Rev... Mr. Green

Personally I don't see why they need one, unless you want to put a salary cap on musicians and actors ect; which isn't necessarily a bad idea.

But basically professional athletes are paid to entertain, just like musicians, actors ect.

So if you are going to cap it, cap the whole damn industry, but personally I think athletes deserve more than actors, they only get one take

A salery cap is there to make it fair for all teams. Baseball is not at all fair for all teams

For instance... look at the Devilrays... they can't afford the high price players that the Yanks can. It's crazy.

The proof is in the Marlins. Remember they sucked, then all of a sudden they won the world series... then they sucked again.

Why? B/c for one season, the dished out the cash to get all the big name players. Then ditch them all b/c it was too much. Hoping it would pull in revenue.

Another perfect example is football. Look at the Bangals. Who would have thought they would be in first place. It goes to show that any team with the right coaching and good teamwork can do well in the NFL. On the other hand... MLB is so full of stuck up high priced names, that even if everyone hates eachother, they can still win.
