Allright. So, I broke down a little early. I was going to wait until, like, Friday to post this, but I can't resist.
As a lot of you know (and are sadly, repeatedly reminded, you poor dears) this weekend will mark the 1-year anniversary of when Shino-sama and I started semi-dating. Er. That is, when I first threw my inhibitions away and almost managed to get away with a really pathetic kiss before he pulled me in for a proper one.
There was a lot of rocky-road the first few weeks we were together, but we sorted it out easily enough, got through the drama that surrounded everyone finding out, and have been settled comfortably together ever since then.
I cannot express in words how wonderful this past year has been for me.
I've never really been much for relationships. Most of my past ones were online (even though I did meet one of those guys in real life, as well as online) or lasted a very short time. Primarily because, I suppose, I just wasn't ready for that sort of thing. When I date, it's serious, there's none of that silliness wherein you can date other people and you don't have to commit. Plus, I'd been hurt in that arena before, so I had some trust issues there, and paranoias.
Still, something about Shino-sama just pulled me in. You guys know the feeling in a more platonic way. I swear he really does have a Charisma of 20! He's got this magnetic personality that makes sure that everyone loves him, and the people who don't love him really really hate him, but are shunned by all the cool people who do.
Shino-sama is the world to me. I trust him more than anyone else. I love him more than chocolate. And I'd do anything to let him know that...even write really cheesy, sappy posts on PO.
But hey, this is nothing compared to the virtual novel I'm writing him about exactly -why- I love him.

Well ok for a second I honestly thought something was going wrong,, lmao but now I see, I'm very happy about you two, it makes me happy to see my friends happy, So I can honestly say that you two look great together. ^_^ congrats to the both of yah. |

....Well actually, everyone really sorta knew it would last, and that is why I think we're so happy for the both of you. It really affirms that good things happen to good people. |

This is going to be a little long, but I think it's worth the read...
We are usually not a "sappy" couple (besides occasionally going overboard with a bit of minor PDA... SHAME!), but once in a while, we get that way.

You know... scary thing is that there is actually a guy (who is straight!) out there that said this once b/c I do my best to get along with everyone. And apparently I do a decent job of it.
On to other things...
Well, I don't think I have to say it ... because everyone already knows. But I will. This has been an unbelievable year and I love Krys very very much.
She's right though, it was a little rocky at first. Mainly b/c I was trying to get a grip. One of the issues I was having was the fact that she was someone that I met, for all practical purposes, through my website. It's not like we met online, but we started hanging out b/c she came to hang out at our table at AWA 10, and we started talking. Well, this issue I got over really quick. I was having more of an issue with the difference in our ages. I'm 8 1/2 years older than Shan is. I'm 29, she's 21. This was a huge issue for me at first.
Some others thought it was an issue as well. No one on PO (actually, Doot immediately said "I APPROVE!" and has said on many occasions that she is "in love with" Shan), but other friends and some family were telling me to watch out b/c of age. But I kept fighting with myself about it. "She is very mature when she needs to be," and "If I was 39 and she was 31, this wouldn't be an issue, so why should it be now" are things I would say to myself. Well the truth is, 29 and 21 is MUCH different than 39 and 31. But, the maturity thing is what really makes the difference in my book. And Krys proved time and time again that she, while still a very fun loving girl in her early 20s, can be mature when it is time to be. And that is what got me.
I got past it. And I went ahead and followed my heart. Turns out, it was very much the right thing to do. All those friends that said to watch out for the age difference. Well they all love Krys now. And that family that told me to watch out... My mother being one of them, now wants to see more pictures of Krys and I around the house. My entire family hugs and kisses her whenever she enters the room as if she is already a part of the family. In their book, she already is.
To say that Krystal Olson is an amazing woman, would be a tremendous injustice to her. There is not a word in my mind strong enough and accurate enough to describe what I think of her. Amazing just scratches the surface. She has her own passions, yet makes time to embrace my passions. And I do the best I can to do the same for her. Her love is obvious (and for some, maybe sickening... poor roommates  ), and unlimited. She supports me in everything I do and loves me for who I am. Just as I do her.
So...
-On Oct 22, we will celebrate 1 year in the way we both feel is appropriate, with friends surrounding us.
-On Oct 22, we will celebrate 1 year of happiness together.
-On Oct 22, we will celebrate 1 year of being together and never having an argument.
-On Oct 22, we will celebrate 1 year of being the best of friends.
-On Oct 22, we will celebrate 1 year at Code*Atom's CD Release party. If you can, we defiantly want you to join us!

I don't really know what to say except I'm really glad to have met you two.
You guys have been like a second family to me and I really appreciate everything y'all have done for me. I don't say it much, but I'm really thankful to know you, and I hope you guys stay as happy and caring as you are now. I have no idea where I'd be right now if it weren't for you taking this puppy in from the rain, and I don't mean Sisko  . I mean me.
You've been the nicest to me, anybody's ever been to me in my life.
You've been there for me when I needed it the most.
When I felt like I giving up, you guys were there,
By all accounts I'll be envious of any kids you have for the wonderful environment I know they'll grow up in. |
