I'll miss you Molley

I saw that Tobias wrote about his ferret and thought I would write about my sweet and wonderful dog Molley. I think i would feel better if i write about it.

About a week ago I went out into my backyard looking for my dog Molley it was time for her to come in and she wasnt scratching at the door like she usually would. I found her lying halfway under the back porch unable to walk. I picked her up and carried her in and checked her all over. I was unable to find anything wrong with her. We made her comfortable and the next day she was better she was able to stand and walk a little bit. We thought she must have hurt her leg and was gonna be fine. Then 2 days later she was back to not being able to walk or stand at all. After that she became rapidly worse cryign in pain and then she developed to sores on her hips. i guess like bed sores or something.

After much prayer and discussion me an mom decided to have Molley put down. She was 13 so we knew she was pretty old for a dog. Yesterday afternoon at 2:30 we carried her in. We asked the vet to check her first and make sure he coudlnt fix her. I so desperatly wanted him to say she would be ok. As he examined her he discovered a tumor in her stomach the size of a grapefruit that we had no idea was there. He told us that considering her age that anything he did would probably just cause her more pain and wouldnt help her any. We told him we didnt want her ti suffer anymore so could he please euthanize her. He asked if we wanted the leave the room and told him we would like to stay. I placed my hand on Molleys side while mom stroked her head. He filled the syringe with 3 inches of a pink liquid which he then inserted into her vein. As soon as he had pulled the needle out Molley insant;y laid her head down and that was it. I was sobbing by then and i picked her up and thanked him. We brought Molley home and gave her a funeral. Molley is in heaven now with my other dog Max whom she adored i know they are both happy and healthy and safe. But i miss her sooo much i still cry thinking about it.

Now id like to tell some about Molley. We got Molley when she was a year and a half from the humane society. Her old ownes had dumped her on the side of I-75. She was already house trained and just the sweetest most best friend anyone could have. Molley was always there for me in the good and the bad. A year after we got Molley my brother brought me home a puppy for my birthday. I named him Max. Five years later Max escaped from the fence and was hit by a car and died. Molley was devastated and so was I. We both consoled eachother but i dont think she ever quit missing him. Molley would escape from the yard alot when she was younger and go sit by our car and wait till we would come outside and give ehr a car ride. She loved to ride in the car. She was never afraid to go to the vets either. And when we would get her groomed man she knew she looked good. She prance all around the house with the bows in her ears like check me out! Her and mom had this thing too when mom would eat a hershey bar Molley always got to tiny bites an a pat on the head when the bites were gone. Molley had an enormous sweet tooth! She liked to go for walks sometimes but she would choose the car ride over that anyday. Also sometimes when i was in school and mom would pick me she would have Molley an the back seat waiting for me. When she was 9 Molley had heart worms. The vet was able to fix her then with a dose of arsinec. I was afraid she was gonna die then but she was a fighter. I was blessed that she lived to be as old as she was.

Molley was my buddy and my best friend and I will miss her.....Goodbye Molley I love you and say Hi to Max for me...... I know we'll all meet again someday.......

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Tsuki, I had the same closeness, with my iguana frank, as you did with your dog molley, frank would know my voice everytime I called his name, he would turn. When I was down and out he would crawl on my shoulder and lick my ear, and look at me with those funny lizard eyes of his, to make me happy. I miss him bunches, when I barried him after he died, 3 days latyer a tree rose from his gravespot. I bnamed it the Frank tree. and It's about 4 feet taller than I am today.^_^

I'm sorry for your loss tsuki. I can tell how much molley meant to you. Just think about all the wonderful times you had with her and how much fun she's having up in heaven with max!!

Sorry to hear about Molley. Hope shes having a good time up there

I buried Chinchy in our back garden and am still in the process of building him a memorial, but because we dont own this house it cant be anything too obvious coz of when we move out eventually
