Thanks to dai's awesomeness, I now have am Saitek x52 Flight Control System. It was my christmas present. I wanted a Joystick, for Battlefield 2, but this this thing is overkill. So I am looking for a good flight sim, to go with my badass flight stick. Preferably a combat flight sim. If anyone has any info, I would greatly appreciate it.
Here's a link so you can all experience the awesomeness.

WWII flight sim? IL-2 Sturmovik (preferably the pack with all the versions) What I like about that game is that if you feel like playing it 100% simulation, you can, if you want an arcade action easy-going dogfight with a friend, you can too.
Modern flight sim? Jane's used to make crazy simulators ... I don't know if they are still good at it today. The last one I had was Jane's F-15 simulator. I also used to love JSF from Eidos. It would run like a charm on a 486 running at 116 Mhz and even for today, it has interesting graphic; not too basic, not too flashy, definitly inovating with their terrain rendering engine. Too bad you can't do anything with Glide anymore (damn lack of 3dfx ... ), but you can still run the game in software render but ... eh even on a P2.4 Ghz, it's chopy. Ah Glide ... how I miss that. *cough*damn you Microsoft and your DirectX *cough* I think those that made IL-2 also did a modern flight sim. You might wanna look it up, I don't know the name tho.
Sci-Fi flight sim? I'd say ... Star Wars X-wings vs Tie 2!!! Yeah it's old, shitty, and a bit buggy, but out of all the Star Wars games out there, this has to be the best ''flight sim'' type out there. Also, Decent Freespace 2 is a game I've been looking for for a few years now. I have the first one but it doesn't run on Win XP -_-. I HOPE the second one does, ah and you get to pilot motherships in the 2nd one :3. That game turns out to be a fair simulation, and definitly more eye candy then X-wing vs Tie.
And if anyone tells you ''o man try Freelancer'' ... dude this game is played with a keyboard and a mouse, it was intended for such play and if you REALLY want to try it with a joystick, it'll just feel awkward. But you can always give it a try if you want! Even tho it doesn't even fit in the category of space simulation, as it is more of an action game that has RPG elements that mostly simulates an evolving economical world with various star systems. Good game in overall, but definitly not a sim. ^^
Good flight, comrade! |

Try to find copies of old Wing Commander games and DL DOS Box.
After Orion was absorbed fully into EA there hasn't been any decent flight sims. |
