Nintendo Revolution specs (not confirmed)

"- RUMORS: IGN reported some specs of Nintendo's next generation Revolution console, the source came from developers who worked on the console:

* Memory: 128 MB. Based on GameCube's configuration, with an additional 64MB 1T-SRAM.
* CPU: Broadway CPU by IBM, extension of Gekko CPU in GC
* GPU: Hollywood GPU, extension of Flipper GPU in GC
* Media: 4.7GB single layer, 8.5GB double layer

- RUMORS: Revolution was said to be approximately twice as powerful as GameCube, the system may launch with a price tag of $149 or less in US by the end of 2006. Nintendo is pursuiting playability instead of technology like Sony and Microsoft."

Not like I'm that disappointed since I only average like 5 games for my Nin consoles anyway but compared to XB360 & PS3 this is NOT a next gen console. It's more of a GameCube V2. They'll get my money when they release the Pokemon or Yugioh game.

or Mario, or Zelda. to be honest, all the 360 titles so far look like graphical overhauls of the sort of stuff thats been around for the past 2 years.

but im not all that fussed about the next gen just yet, ill wait a year after each systems release before considering buying one

Well with a price tag of 150 or so, and rumors of an Online Smash Bros. at launch I'll be ready to get one when they come out.

Im in total agreement on the price tag. I can't wait for the 360 and ps3 to really start comming out. Cause then.. ima buy the x-box and ps2 all over again Smile

If it has an appealing set of franchise favorites like Metroid, Zelda and Mario I will probably be onboard. Hell, I'll probably be buying a Gamecube again when the new Zelda game releases early in 2k6.

If I wasn't a married shut-in with a very busy schedule, I might actually keep a Gamecube around for 4 player Mario Kart DD madness with friends. Unfortunately I don't have many get togethers anymore, not like the old N64 days of Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and the WCW/WWF games which provided so many hours of multiplayer goodness.

gamecubes are really cheap nowdays anyway, bout the price of a brand new game lol!

It's refreshing to see that nintendo isn't totally concerned with graphics, speed and overall system power. The XBox is the most powerful out of the current gen consoles and I still never plan on getting one. PS1 and SNES are STIL my all time favorite consoles, due to the quality of games.
