What a year for gamers its been! We've seen the current crop of consoles have their boundaries pushed further than ever before, the launch of two new handhelds that offer different approaches to how you play games on the go and have also witnessed the first cries of the Next Generation of consoles with the launch of the Microsoft XBox 360. And while the latest kid on the block didn't come out kicking and screaming (aside from the verbal wars going on between Microsoft and Sony) its got many new "parents" excited about whats to come.

It's not just the new systems that have had people excited, although thats where most of the talk has been since May. The consoles we've had for the past few years have seen some of the best games they're ever likely to see, maybe some of the best games ever made in some cases, even the Nintendo Gamecube has been in on the act besides its dwindling popularity within stores. Although alot of its "Triple-A" titles have since gone multiformat, most will still tell you the Gamecube version is the better.

But even if you only had one of the 3 major systems, you've had plenty of top notch titles to enjoy over the past 12 months, and here, with the first ever annual Gamepulse Awards are here for you to let us know what you think was the best of 2005.
