Our host has informed us that they want to move us to a more powerful server since we are a "high traffic" site.

Please note this has nothing to do with the roll out of the new site which is currently set for 9/19/2004 - 9/20/2004.

This move will take place Wed (09/15/2004) morning at 2AM.

In order for us to point to the new server, we have to change our dns name for our domain. This process can take from 24 to 72 hours.

We changed the DNS name yesterday around 2PM to try to minimize the amount of time the forums are closed. We are closing the board to keep the data on the forums current. I'm sure the people that remember the day we lost 5 days worth of posts can appreciate that.

So to preserve data integrity for the forums, we closed the forum at 09/15/2004 00:00:00. The site transfer is set for 09/15/2004 02:00:00. I closed the forums 2 hours early to be safe.

As soon as the change takes affect, we will open the forum on the new server. When the DNS change takes affect, everything should change back to normal. I don't expect the forum to be down for any more than 1 day.
