Hey I was wondering if anyone os planning on picking this up?
I have always been a big fan of the series, as it gives u almost 100% freedom to do what you want. And the new installment just looks gorgeous. not to mention the game play is supposed to be better.
But I am not sure on the system reqs. As it looks so hot I am worried that dilapidated system won’t be able to handle it, even on lowest settings. And I don't really wanna drop 300+ on a xbox 360 to play it
Any in put here? |

Morrowind bored me, so I doubt I will be picking this one up, my buddies at work got it today, and are in love |

If it is anything like how Morrowind was for the PC, if you just meet the requirements, you will have to upgrade (or build a new PC) to just to get the game running remotely smoothly or pick up a 360. The recommended requirements are ridicously high, just to warn you.
I will say this. I own the 360 version and I have to say this is easily the best RPG I have played in the past few years. |

I'm with him Morrowind bored me so I doubt I'll get this game.
I watched Osiris play it and it looks pretty but I dunno...Just seems too odd to me. It's like PSO without sequestered rooms and since I didn't like PSO it doesn't appeal to me aside from an "Ooooh" factor. |

It's nothing like Morrowind, I won't start prising it the same way it's been praised all over the net because well, I don't feel I need to and, if you are not sure about it, get it from the interweb then buy it if you like it, or whatever lol
Not even todays technology can show the maximum potential of this game, sadly, so I'll only be able to run it flawlessly (with ALL trees in the unlimited background showing up) in maybe, 2 or 3 years . Crazy stuff, but o so awesome.
I may be a lil hardcore fan, but I still play arena and Daggerfall on my laptop, so I dought I'll drop this one anytime soon. I'm seriously thinking this is the ''Daggerfall replacement'' for me, for I found many things in morrowind to be a disgrace to the Elders Scroll serie when comparing it to Daggerfall, and well, still I managed to like Morrowind a lot.
But now ... Oblivion is just ... a leap forward in gathering so much cool aspects into one game. I see where there can be improovement, and where there likely will have soon. Like they did in spinter cell, I'm sure they'll come up with a coop mode, as an INTEGRATED and POSSIBLE part of the story. I mean come on, how hard is it to just say ''you are the chosen one/you are the chosen ones'' in a game, it doubles the amount of text for every times it's choosing between what relates to either one or 2 people in the story but fundamentally, it's the same main quest with objectives, it wouldn't be too complicated to setup while still respecting the tradition of the Elders Scroll series of allowing an involving and total immersion of the player (and perhaps 2 players) in the future especially after what they managed to do with the A.I. in Oblivion.
That's all I have to say.
(EDIT)
ok, I think I'm an hardcore fan ...
I manage to still enjoy the game in arena fights where the framerate drops to 1-2 fps... and I don't mind it at all. I think I'm crazy. but MAN is it good training to try and deal with momentum of attacks with such crappy fps I guess I'm charmed by the challenge of the task at hand and get to forget about the performance drop itself and how ... horrible it is |
