Has anyone else watched this show before? I started watching it on Adult Swim a few months ago, and just got the entire series DVD. It was short-lived, which is unfortunate because it's very funny, and very twisted.

if i recall, the show is actually about 3 or so years old... from the earlier days of adult swim. never seemed to catch on as much. sad really, the writing, animation, and voice talent were all good. i'd rather mission hill were still on...
that show never let me stop laughing.

I watched The Oblongs last night (Sunday) on Adult Swim at 1:00am. It was followed by Mission Hill at 1:30, just to confirm what Kugyou said. |

I watched The Oblongs for the first time last night and i think I'm going to try to keep watching it, it was pretty hilarious from just the one episode. So if that was any indication of what the rest of the series is like I might even think about picking up the first season on dvd. |

Yes, all the episodes are like that. If I'm right, you watched the episode with the Little Amazons, right?
One of the best, in my opinion, is the one with the Narcoleptic Scotty dog.
And also, there is only one DVD set, as the series only had the opportunity to go through one season. Unfortunate really, because the show is GREAT. |

What's funny is that, for all the wonderfulness of the show, Angus Oblong himself doesn't really approve. From the site itself:

"The Oblongs" was the only thing Will Farrell ever did that was funny...Sorry, he wasn't funny but everyone around him was including the animators who actually put life into his character where his horrible acting couldn't compensate. |

I could not agree with you more Gaaz. Will Ferrel is only really funny if you're a 15 year old high school kid that likes him because everyone else does, and suffers the same fate as, dare I say it, Jim Carey. In all reality, he's just not funny. People just need to realize that there are MUCH better "comedians" out there. |
