Irate dad takes potshot at gamer son
Fed up with son forgoing chores in favor of gaming, a Florida man threatens PC with handgun--which goes off.

File this story under "Tough Love." Florida media outlets are reporting that a resident of Dunedin, located near Tampa, fired a gun at his son's computer monitor after an argument.

Upset with his son spending too much time playing computer games, Joseph Langenderfer threatened his 22-year-old son, saying he was going to shoot the computer. The gun fired, putting a bullet into the wall just three feet away from the son was sitting, according to CBS-affiliate WTSP's Web site.

Local police got a 911 call from the son saying his dad shot at him after an argument. The two were reportedly arguing over the son spending too much time playing "computer games" and not doing laundry. The names of the "games" were not mentioned.

Langenderfer, who claims the gun went off accidentally, is being held on one count of attempted murder.

The father will say
1) My son plays GTA all the time.
2) I constantly had to tell him not to play.
3) While doing so I caught images shown within range of my peripheral vision
4) These images warped my judgement temporarily which caused me to fire the gun at the images (which happened to be on the PC monitor)
5) Therefore it was the fault of this game that caused me to do what I did
6) I'm innocent, Rockstar is at fault.

Can't blame him afterall! Aaw, I mean, it's not like that poor father was rised and then learnt to accept things in life and make the difference between real and virtual ("virtual" reality didn't exist back in the days). He's probably just a psycologicly fragile cattle that needs to be dictated what to do in order to do things ''right'' all its life.

So obviously if something ends up being shown to him and it's apparently wrong but nothing stops that wrong thing to occure, and in fact entertainment is found in doing this wrong thing (aka killing people in games for exemple), it's poor, primitive and underdeveloped mind will not be able to cope with the paradox of the situation and well ... he'll end up shooting walls or computer screens or hell his son eventually while we're at it just because he can't deal with the fact that ''IT'S A GAME! It's NOT real, for Shiva's sake''.

/end of rant and sarcasm and all the likes *pant pant pant

The fun and sad part in there is that... it's likely what he'll say.
