I actually got this via email from Gaaz... so thank you Gaaz. Thought it would be good to post...
Quote: |
A NEW WAY TO CAR JACK (NOT A JOKE)
Please keep this circulating...
You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car, and get inside. Then you start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of
paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!
Your engine was running and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.
And guess what ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car...
BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.
Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later,
and be thankful that you read this email.
I hope you will forward this to friends and family... especially to women!
A purse contains all of your identification, and you certainly do NOT want
someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys! |
Now you can just link people to this topic to let them know if you like. |

Haha. You know this has been around for a little bit. It's a lot more effective then popping the lock with a flat head and crowbar and then jamming the flat head into the ignition, turn and off you go.
They actually have thought of seats that activate when you turn your car on that would paralize a potential car theif. I forget exactly how they know to match you to the car. Crazy stuff.
People in my opinion are just kinda stupid when it comes to their cars. They leave them running all the time. Even at the bank. They get outta their car, leaving it running and go pull money out of the atm. Or they leave their car running while dropping of some blockbuster movies. If it wasn't so easy to track cars down in 98% of america then car theifs would rule the world. |

Same here. Even if it is old, I've never heard of it, so there are probably more that haven't ... so I posted it anyway. |

Seriously, no worry for me. I practically always turn my car off, but even if I did not, the odds of me noticing that piece of paper in the window before I drive off are ludicrous |

I have what I call "GAAZ car" syndrome. Every time I step out of a car, even if it's for a moment I lock the door by instinct. Often this results in me being locked out the door and laughed at by those driving...but still! Never hurts to be safe :3 |

I do that too.
I'll run back into the house to get something and lock the car door. I've even locked it a couple of times while moving to the back seat so someone else can sit in the front. |

Good thing I donīt live in a big city.
But if I go driving I will keep this in mind. Not that will make any diffrence. i am a bit paranoid and canīt leave the car at all (even if its locked) without worrying that it will be stolen. |
