I bought an import PSP, and then a US model at launch before selling it shortly after in favor of the DS. I just found the software as a whole to be lacking in quality. The scaled down ports got old quickly, and I don't do enough portable gaming to justify a $249 purchase.
However, there are a few new games on the way that have me seriously rethinking my stance on the PSP..
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast
Ace Combat X
Power Stone Collection
And of course, the already released Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. |

Monster Hunter Portable comes out next week, I'm hoping it'll be pretty good because it'll be a reason to pickup my PSP since I beat Xmen Legends 2 :p
I am pretty excited about Portable Ops as well as the Digital Graphic Novel, and Power Stone Collection. Overall I have felt that PSP has been pretty lacking in quality titles though. At least as far as titles that appeal to me. |

I hope the hate is overshadowed by the love. 
I am so tempted to order a Ceramic White PSP right now, but I need to start saving for a DS Lite and a Revolution first. I just hate the thought of not being able to play a new Ace Combat game, it's one of my favorite franchises. |

Honestly Doot, I would say just hold out.
Just borrow mine when I get back, I haven't touched it since I beat Rise of Apocalypse. And at 40 dollars a pop for games, I'm not very thrilled to be buying either ports of console games or short games not worth the value. |

Well, it just became a lot easier to resist.
I always say I won't upgrade my PC anymore, that I don't do enough PC gaming to justify the cost. In the end, I always end up pumping money into new parts because some powerhouse game I have to play is coming. The $249 a PSP would cost could go towards a RAM and HDD upgrade, or perhaps a newer video card..
Having a kid is also expensive. I anticipated weekly costs due to diapers, baby wipes and the odd can of formula would reduce my discretionary income a bit, but I had no idea how much it would end up costing in the end.
So yeah, until they drop to the $99-149 price point (which will probably never happen), I'll be sans PSP. |

Well I wouldn't doubt that it can happen.
Right now they have the core PSP set out for $199.
Nov. The PS3 comes out and they are going to want to hype up the communication between the two of them, so I wouldn't doubt them droping the core to $149 at that time. |
