Got mine with no trouble at Wal-mart on Sunday.
The system is SMEXY!
The brighter screen is EXTREMLY noticable. Even if not comparing side by side. The colors are more defined and vibrant. I mean really... DS to DS Lite is almost as dramatic a change as GBA to GBA SP. OK, so I'm exadurating a little bit. But it really is that much better.
The machine is very comfortable in your hands. And the reduced size and weight are quite noticable.
My only problem with it is that ... just like almost everytime Nintendo changes up the design of their systems... All the plugs are different. ('cept the headphone jack). Why can't you use the same AC Adaptor... what's up with that? I didn't check but, does the system need more voltage b/c of the brighter screen? Oh... and it doesn't come with a strap... ummm... why?
Either way, well worth the price if you don't have one already and it's damn smexy!
If you have one already... is it worth it... maybe... depends if you can do what I did.
I sold my old DS to a co worker for $80.
You can also get a coupon from Circuit City to get Brain Age for free!

Yeah, it seems the initial demand isn't that great. The Walmart near me has so many they're packed up in the XB and PS2 spaces. I'll drop mine on laway this weekend and wait til the new colors come to get it out so I can switch. |

I got one for the sole reason that I felt that Nintendo deserved my money for having a really great system. The improvements are nice, but I wish the GBA game wouldn't stick out. However, considering I don't get cramps holding the damn thing (unlike the older DS), that alone makes it worth the purchase.
I didn't get rid of my old one however. The way I got it, it seems more like a trophy to me than just a system. |

Yeah that kinda got me too.

Yeah no kidding. I could only play it for like 30 mins before I was taking "hand flex breaks" during the game.

Rune has a sordid past with Nintendo... with any luck, he got one of those packages like the kids over at Penny Arcade.
I just happened to stroll through Circuit City this afternoon and found that they're also giving away a Mario cloth case with purchase. I got the Princess Peach one for PRG a while ago without knowing that it was made for the DS Lite. I was like... "man, this is a snug fit, yo..." |

I played my DS for 6 hours in one day. (3 hour plane flight to Minnesota and a 3 hour plane flight to Atlanta from minnesota. Plus playing in the terminal and on Marta) I never experienced any of these "Hand cramps" of which you speak.
Idunno, maybe I just have more resourcefull hands or something. |
