Welcome home! "World Cup Soccer" CRAZE is back! To be held in Germany, World Cup 2006 will play out in a time zone 7 hours behind Malaysia. Nobody is going to sleep through the 64 matches from preliminaries to finals. Or you'll look stupid standing among the cooler crowd the morning after..

I have been watching the World Cup since I was kid with my father and brother, this is something we’re looking forward in every 4 years..

Is there any PO’s who is also a soccer fan?

There are a lot of footie fans in PO, and most of us are going to be sneaking glances at the scoreboard, if we can't outright watch the matches ourselves. Things should get crazy over the next month.

I just hope the U.S.A has a good showing. Do I think we'll win? Most likely not but as long as we get father than we did last time it is all good. We have been getting better and better each time.

If the U.S. wins its group, it could go past the quarterfinal. If it doesn't, then it has Brazil, and I don't give the U.S. much of a chance there.

Yeah well nobody gave the U.S.A Hockey much of a chance in the 1980 Winter Olympics. Can anybody say miracle?

Yeah but US doesn't hold footie in as high a regard as MANY other countries do out there.

I like watching the World Cup because I love footie/soccer. And there are so little fans in the US compared to pigskin football and baseball (blech even that poor excuse for a sport, basketball) than there are for soccer.

I figure the US has enough of their own World Series (baseball- no other country participates unless you count Canadian teams so I don't really consider it a World triumph and I'm a baseball fan!) So I don't even bother to cheer for them. I know, I'm "Un-American".

Anyway, the kraut in me says DEUTSCHLAND UBER ALLES! But I gotta tip my hat to Brazil. It's awesome to see a sport that truly does span the globe and bring the true meaning to "World" than just inside one country's borders. (aside from the Olympics)

Actually the US team is ranked 5th of the 32 teams, so they have a decent shot. I will probably miss 90% og the games. mostly cause they will be airing around 10am-2pm or so my time, which I am at work, so unless espn will be replaying the games I won't be watching
