I was in Barnes and Noble the other day with UP when this book caught my eye:

Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich

Upon further inspection, I realized that it caught my eye because I recognized the art on the cover to be by an artist named Adam Rex ( www.adamrex.com ) who's art I know of because he illustrates Magic: the Gathering cards.

So I went back to B&N tonight and got it with the intention of giving it to my niece and nephew, as I always get them something for Halloween, and this looked like it was pretty cool.

I went home and decided that to read though it, and I tell you...I'm going to have to get another copy for myself. This book is EXCELLENT. It's funny (the humor is sufficient for kids, but there are parts that you really need to be an adult to get...and are AWESOME) and the artwork is phenomenal. As far as Adam's Magic art goes, I'd say he's probably within my top 5 favorite artists that illustrate cards, and the artwork in Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich is even better than his Magic art.

So whether or not you have kids, or have any kids that you would give this to, I highly suggest at least checking this book out. Especially if you liked movies like Ice Age and Toy Story, that had an element of adult humor intertwined into a whimsical and silly kid's story.
