I know I'm always the bearer of bad news but I'm just the messenger.
"Numerous Wii owners reported that their Wii console broken down after downloading a system update from the WiiConnect24 service. After the update, the systems would only display the error code "110213" on screen. This problem can only be fixed by sending the consoles back to Nintendo for repair"
Now from what I can tell this is unavoidable since, I believe, the system does this automatically. The only way around this is to not be connected to the Net. If it happens to you, don't be caught unawares.
Check their customer service site HERE regularly to see if Nin offers the return service voluntarily. I've had to repair three GBAs so far and their service is incredible. I've had the systems delivered, repaired, and sent back out to me all in the same day everytime. They also pay for postage both ways. I don't know if all of that will carry over to the Wii (heavier product) but stay updated at their website. |

I still haven't even gotten an update.
My first time connecting to WiiConnect24 said that I was up to date. Have you to download an update. |

It only happened in the first few hours of updating. Our Wii was screwed up. They send you a replacement but all of the data on the broken system is unusable on other systems (which we didn't know until we got the replacement.) This of course, meant that we had to start all over on our 20 hour Zelda saves. |
