In case you haven't seen the news the mid west got bitch slapped by mother nature last thursday night. I along with about 500,000 other people lost power which kinda sucked cause you could no longer heat your house during the below freezing nights. So far there have been 16 deaths related to the storm. I was lucky enough to get my power back after about 4 days without it. But as i type this some 46,000 people still don't have power basically a full week after the storm.
My cable service is also down for a indefinite amount of time, so I wont have TV or internet for at least another week at least(currently being a leet haxor of my neighbors DSL)
one interesting thing was the county I live in was declared a disaster area...so thats fun. |

That sux Chris, but I'm glad your family and you are fine and OK..
Its reported that we might get the typhoon durian in next couple of days or week, the typhoon already hits Phillipines, the storm affected nearly 1.1 million people in 12 provinces. Torrential rains and mudslides, particularly in the area of the Mount Mayon volcano, killed nearly 425 people, injured 507 others, and left 599 people missing. and Vietnam, killing at least 46 people, sinking hundreds of fishing boats and damaging houses 
*edit Typhoon Durian.. ahh ok latest news, its not likely to hit Malaysia *phewwww* well even if it does, its not going to affect where I'm staying. |

Wow umm so nice nobody but skylah cared...anyway I got my cable reconected after 2 weeks finally, so I have re-entered the 21st century. |

Ahh! I didn't even see this topic. I care! that really sucks.. I remember once when we had an ice storm here and we were without power for 1 day.. and that was wayy tooo much for us. I can't even imagine 4 days or longer. D:

Well, Reaps, you kind of told us the important part, namely that you were still alive and okay. As someone who's been part of Midwestern ice storms before, I can understand the fun it's caused, but since I've been through them, what I'm most concerned about is that you're okay. |

Sounds like everything is falling back into place for you. I've expeienced a few outages and the like and they really suck. But it is more important that everyone is OK.
And just so you know, Mr. Reapypants,  I haven't posted b/c I have been really busy at work and xmas shopping by night while Al the DLOE uses my laptop to study for his finals.
We all wuv you Reaper, and glad you're not hurt from the storms.  |

London had a Tornado last week, where I live got quite strong winds too, we're only about 45 minutes away by train... |

Yeah its all good, just a loong frustaiting time.
Found out the reason it took so long to get it back. Apperently the cable comeing to our hose got some sort of crazy electrical feedback when the power lines came down. it fused the entire wire together, and acording to the technition came close to lighting my house on fire O.O |
