PSP Leeeenox

Now here's something really cool I found. Now to see what people cook up for this. Fully handheld Linux box you can take anywhere and with the approperate drivers do just about anything.

If that gets developed into a more full application, I can see the PSP becoming a popular and inexpensive handheld computer. If they can figure out a way of keeping the PSP's firmware and media functionality, and being able to access that from the Linux side, that would be fantastic.

But if the Linux side became fully functional you wouldn't need the firmware side of it at all except to launch normal PSP apps, browsing the web and listening/watching media from the mem card would be a lot better through a linux app.

The normal PSP apps are an important part of it, though - having to choose between the two shouldn't really be an option. If the Linux breed can read and play UMD movies and games, and do all the other PSP functionalities, then I'm all for replacement, because really, devices should be encouraged to use their full power and functions.
