Ok, I'm finally about to replace my stolen Japanese Celebi GBA (woulda done it sooner had it not been for emulators). My Q is should I back with a GBA or get a GBA SP? I know about the light but my real Q's are
Does it work with the GBA Gameshark?
Does it have the GameCube connection ability?
Is anything moved from where it was on the GBA?
Is it comfortable?

I had no real problem with my GBA other than it can't be played with one hand like my GBC (try standing on an NYC subway train and using both hands on your GBA and you'll meet the floor really fast).

I really only need to know the technical aspects since I figure performancewise it's the same (plus a light).

Well so far as I know the only big change is tehres no headphone jack, but they have headphones with the proper jack built into em. Also the link cable part is the same as hte regular advance, so I assume that everything else works the same, I havent seen any issues with anything else. And if the gameshark just hooks into where teh cartridge goes, tehn yeah that should work too because its the same size as teh advance. I love my SP personally

As far as I know, the only game that will not work with the SP is Kirby's Tilt and Tumble, since the cartridge is turned in the opposite direction. I have used the Gamecube connection with my SP and there is no difference at all. Also, just in case, the E-Reader does still work with the system. The only difference is, since the cartridge slot is on the opposite side, the link cable pass through sticks up over the top of the system. If you need the link cable w/ the E-Reader you just use the regular link cable port which is still on the back of the system like the GBA. I would assume it works with the gameshark as well, though I haven't tried it. As far as comfort goes, I preferred the regular GBA for shape and size alone. However, the SP is just as comfortable as the Gameboy Color/Pocket. Furthermore, when you consider the fact that you don't have to angle the system in a certain (usually uncomfortable) position to see it, because of the built in light, I'd have to say the SP is more comfortable. My opinion...go with the SP. The light alone is reason enough. You can even play it in total darkness.

Well I still have my entire complimentary of accessories (including Lightshield) so I'll check it at the store. I forgot that the carts fit in "upside down", that would make the GS upside down too. I just wonder how awkward that be to play it (similar to the E-Reader, which I don't have, since I'm guessing it would now point into your chest) with the device attached. Maybe I'll go with the GBA then. I will definitely wait til I can find all the colors. That silver really turns me off. Makes it look like a cigarette case or something.

Well...if you take your GB anywhere, get the SP. It's so much smaller, especially since you don't have to plug in a lightshield or glow guard to see anything. At first I was worried about it being to small for some fast paced games, but it actually handles quite nicely. If it is to small for your hands though, you can get a larger hand grip for about $8. It's a rubbery attachment that slips behind the SP to make it more like a game controller.
