reporting in the day after a party of "flail" and horrors...it had to be the worst party i have been to in my life...
this was a break-in the new place and i found out about it from a friend i was helping to move into the place. mind you i hate one of the people he is moving in with and i can be nice while not be more that a silly ass. Fawkes and I arrive around 9:30 and still get there ahead of the host, my hated associate from school. i know he is not a good planner but he had some time (a month) so i decided to give this party a chance. not a good decision in hind sight.
first item of gripe: Food and Drink
ok this was a major fail in several directions. the first was sodas and other drinks. the fridge was bare and nothing was avail till there was a Walmart run and after that the host only put out 2 2-liter bottles of generic soda and horded the majority of them in the fridge and kitchen out of view as well as 1 bag of ice for 12+ people. since we are all old enough to drink we also wanted alchy but the people went to the ghetto bottle shop and said there were not many options...while just across the interstate there is a topnotch one with great prices that most everyone knew about so the booze was BAD BAD BAD till civilized people brought out their personal supplies. Beer was what our friend Joe had brought for us that got there on time so only a 6 pack and 2 40's of decent stuff for him and the friend i helped move.
now for the food... the only food was a 3? funky pizzas that after they were baked and ready we were expected to go into the tiny kitchen and get on our own. i don't mind self serve but one should bring it out into the open on the dining table i sold to them for use in this sort of situation. tiny hall leading into the kitchen and the bathroom in the hall too lead it to be an impedance to social interaction which food on the table leads to since most there did not know each other and lead to us splitting into cliques earlier than would normally happen at a party. no small snacks were out either despite corn chips were there and were horded.
Second item of gripe: 'fro' and his failing to listen and weird
the second item was the person i hated. to save him from the beating he deserves i will not use his name and call him by his hair which i think is stealing nutrients from the rest of his skull and its contents. he as expected though i hoped others would counter this did not plan for anything to help us mingle so after 1 hour we just split up by IQ/drunkenness. Fawkes and i had a riveting conversation with the Caterer friends and also discovered alot more about the club scene in the ATL. Our host soon after we met the caterers went around and told no one to come up to his room while he did a ritual...of hanging a poster...RIGHT....
Later we went up and visited the ritual sight as he tried to set up the DSL. i made one crack about the crowd in the room with a comment about rolling a CS grenade into the room. it is ignored but makes one person say 'cs...Counterstrike?' and the fro'ed one says not to ever mention that game in there again. i ok that then the question about what CS means starts up and i try to say what it is. The fro'ed one decides to try to cut me off in the middle of answering saying to not talk about weapons in front of him. i don't get a chance to say it is merely a chemical name i am answering to since any time i open my mouth her repeats it. i ignore and continue over him given it is ONE SENTENCE. he then jumps up and is screaming in my face that all i do is discuss is weapons and violence and to shut up...it took all the strength i had to use good judgement since it would have only made things worse and i really did not want to cause issues on the first weekend my friend was living there. Fawkes can fill in on here response that followed but i just got a laugh at his oblivience to one reality. The woman, drunk and flirting with him since he was the only single and straight guy in the room, had a major STD and blabbed it to another friend of mine who she was flirting with just before. yes it is wrong to laugh but in defense of my thoughts of the unfolding shakespearian tragedy the girl left with the other friend that took her to the party so no biohazzards were unleashed.
there was more but that is all i can put without inciting a war or get banned. i know this is no LJ but i would rather hear responses from this group than i normally get on most incident/comment posting sites. oh and BTW this person is a proud owner of a UN flag he hangs over his bed. you can guess why we don't get along... |

That guy should be slapped for failure to throw a proper party. 10 year olds plan slumber partys better than that. My condolences to you both! |

as a funny thing the most common comment of the night was "fro'ed one, do you need a soap box?"

so, in the party concept's defence, he invited three times as many people as actually came... Apparently, everyone who said they would definitely be there were the ones who didn't show (a flake has flaky friends, go figure). To his detriment, he invited THAT MANY PEOPLE and had no thought toward food...
Also, you weren't the only one he pissed off that night, he's generally in the habit of straining friendships as quickly as he makes them, and it's only by the virtue of his remaining friends very forgiving nature, or very short memories, that he has as many contacts as he does.
Also, one of the girls from the get-together arrived the next morning and ended up helping him put together some furniture... At which time he bragged about getting a twin mattress for $120 like it was a bargain. But hey, I suppose everything is a bargain when it's not your money (makes me feel sorry for his dad)...
Yeah, I may have to rant every now and then over this next semester... I'll try to at least keep it interesting. |

To sum it all up, it was a non-party, party. But hey,at least I got to go out to a party somewhere...trainwreck watching can be fun!
Never let a flake plan a party. I think DLOE and Feign can agree w/ me in saying that the party was a reflection of the host.
I have my own personal hopes of spending more time with this fro'd host and see if I can get him to calm down some. He spazes out whenever DLOE even opens his mouth! But he actually likes me....partly b/c I restrain DLOE from giving him a good ole smackdown that he really needs and everyone wants to give him. |

(Stuff deleted because it was off topic ranting.)
In hindsight, I wish I had known what the party plans were so I could just take over the hostship and gotten some food and music ahead of time. Not that it would have been much better, (a party animal I am not) but at least it would have had the essentials.
The task of mellowing Fro out enough to stand Al's presence would involve situational conditioning with visible signs that he is not usually talking about pain, death and destruction...
...Therein lies the problem...

I got a good laugh with how Fro would ask the masses help with random things....Like if anyone had a CD player on them that could be hooked up to speakers...or if anyone had a hard drive he could use.
A run to QT would have made for enough party supplies to keep the masses happy. |

the only question i have now is whether fro will face up to him hating me now or is that to violent a stance for him to take.
also wonder if he is actually planning a new party anytime soon (soon in the geologic sense) |

And Al, to paraphrase him, he doesn't 'hate' you so much as he completely rejects every opinion you have on principle that you have a "violence fixation". Granted, he changed his statement five times without giving a clear answer, but that was the gist of it... I think... |
