To preface. I have always been thinking about going into tattooing as a career.

A few days ago, I got a call from my friend Matt. Turns out that the shop he works at is going to start taking apprentices. But first, they would have to review my portfolio and decide whether or not to take me on as a student.

So my nerves have been EATING me for the past couple of days, because my portfolio isn't exactly where I want it to be >.> especially not as diverse as I want it to be. The majority of it is anime work :B

SO anyway. I was hanging out at the shop tonight, and then the main dude called me into a room in the back. He opened my portfolio, looking at each piece without any expression on his face, brow furrowed, not making any comments. Finally, only halfway through, he shut it. "I think I've seen enough."

My thoughts: "oh SH!! he $#%#ing hated it!"

He looked up at me. "You've got it. You have what it takes. I want you in the school."

The funny thing was, the anime was his favorite part. X)!

Aaaaaaand.....I start in April :D The only "bad" part is, I'll have to finish up this semester and wait until I start making money (because for a while, any money you get from tattoos goes to pay for the apprenticeship) to go back to college. Because I can't work, apprentice, AND go to school. So I have to drop school out of the equation until I can make money at tattooing. :B

Congratulations, Scrummy. You'll do just fine in this sequence. And you should be able to make quite the bit of money from the tattoos to do school with.

Congratulations! I'm looking to get a tattoo in the near future. I had to lose the nipple rings due to surgery, so I'm fiending for something.

I gotta say Im really excited for ya, Scrums. Tattooing can be a rewarding lifelong career, and an interesting expereince if nothing else. You remember Doot's older brother is a tattoo artist?
