From April 30 to May 6, the city will be host to Spider-Man Week in NYC, a five-borough-wide celebration encompassing more than two-dozen live events, screenings, parties and exhibits. It's all part of honoring the city that has been central to the Marvel Comics legend since his beginning in 1962 and right through the new "Spider-Man 3," opening May 4.
"Because New York City is Spider-Man's hometown, we wanted to find a way to make the launch of the summer moviegoing season, and 'Spider-Man 3,' really special for the city and its people," said Jeff Blake, vice chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, which is working with the city's marketing and tourism arm, NYC & Company. "We want residents, businesses and visitors in every borough to enjoy Spider-Man's homecoming in a special way."
"We're pleased to use the collective power of all our marketing and media resources to coordinate such an event," says NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. "It's the kind of creative alliance we hope to do again in the future."

Queens IS NYC. A common misconception is that the term "New York City" is referring to Manhattan. "New York City" is actually comprised of five "boroughs"...the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

I was kidding cause in the Ultimate Spider-Man game the Human Torch comes to Queens to challenge Spidey to a race and Spider-Man was taken aback that he would leave Manhattan and come to queens even though it's like right on the other side of the Holland Tunnel and Johnny can fly I think about the speed of sound. |
