This is why I can't handle the news anymore

And that makes me sad. It's true this isn't the way we would like things. But it is a job we got our hands into and now we have to finish it. If we don't....lord help us the next time.

For a time I was almost exclusively listening to NPR, but I just stopped because of things like this. What really got me was constantly hearing about US helicopters that would go down for whatever reason, killing all those on board. And when I say constantly I mean at least once a week.

I have to watch the news, as it humanises me.

If we didn't live in a world of war, hunger and terror, we wouldnt remember each and every day how goddamn lucky some of us are to simply be alive.

So, I watch, I remember, and I hope, that one day we can live ina perfect world, even when it will never happen, but as Vince Lombardi once said, if we chase perfection, we can attain excellence.

So, we keep on trying to help those less fortunate than us, and if it wasnt for the news, I doubt Id do anywhere near as much charity based stuff as I do, as Id never REALLy know what was going on.

I think more people need to go to free clinics and see seizuring babies who have to be fed through a hole in their abdomens for the rest of their (short) lives.

Sorry, this week has been my cold week.

They aren't blowing themselves up, the Sunni insurgents are blowing Shi'ites up. And we shouldn't even be there. We don't understand all the religion of the area. We are infiltrators, not liberators. Our soldiers have to fight an uncertain war against an even uncertain enemy in a land they are not welcome. Our troops, our military, why are they fighting for someone else? It's not like we're in another Cold War.

What makes me sad is that several Baghdads after the bombing were chanting that it was America's fault. Not that America set the car bomb, just were a major catalyst.
