Well especially in those cases the people that were told they were superior acted superior and vice versa.. If you believe something, you will act accordingly.
If your religion tells you that the earth is yours to rule and do with as yopu please. you will treat the earth like a thing. It will be only as much use to you as for what it gives you and nothing more. A thing, not the living entity that it is, for example.
If you are told you are a genius you will act like you are smarter than all the "average" people and as much as you say contrary you will still believe that you are better than "non-geniuses."
Capitalism focuses on things and an ease of living. So countries that see the USA see our capitalism and see things as the promise of greatness and the good life. This is not good or bad just an obvious result of the frame of mind.
Thoughts create feelings that create thoughts etc... but the ones you hold onto determine your outward actions. |

I have actually heard of the Third Wave exercize before, and how ravaged some people were by it. The point, I think, is that the way that we are raised in society encourages us to be competetive and selective. You can argue about whether or not that is human nature, but that's a whole different kettle of fish. So, with that in mind all it takes is someone to arbitrarily label one group of people differently than another and it all comes down on our heads. Racism is so powerful because it is a visual que, something that you can see immediately, and all it takes is to have some arogant prick with some power in his persuasion to start morphing the minds of others.
The point is that we, as intelligent human beings, have to understand that we control our own views and opinions, that if we understand how outside influences affect us then we can either accept them or reject them by checking in with ourselves and validating the claim as something we do or we do not believe in.
