Eeps, anxious!!

I recently applied to go back to college to study for a National Diploma in Advanced Media Studies to further my idea's of becoming a Journalist (one of the reasons I set up bitparade).

Today I heard back from the college, I have an interview on the 22nd June (4 days after my birthday). I'm not too worried about the interview, either I get in or I don't but theres so much other stuff thats going to change if and when I get a place for September.

For starters Chixie is doing a full time University course to be a Nurse for the NHS, this requires that on top of her studies she does something like 40 hours of nursing a week at the local hospital. Then there's child care, both courses are at the least 5 days a week, plus whatever work we have to do at home, so we need someone to look after our 3 year old little girl, most people turn to family, although Chixie and her mum don't talk and my family live in a completely different city so thats family out of the window!

The college I've applied for does have a nursery but its getting her a place there as most of them go to the girls who dropped out of compulsory education after getting pregnant while underage (the legal age for sex in the UK is 16).

Top this off with the fact for the past 3 years I've been a carer for both Chixie and our daughter after being forced out of work by Social Services (Chixie was written off of work, so we'#re living off the benefits system at the moment, something we're not proud of hence why we're trying to get careers rather than just settling for working in the local Supermarket) so I haven't really mixed with anybody outside of family for a long long time now, so I'm pretty worried about not fitting in (especially as Chixie was being bullied by women in their mid-30's at the same college, problem there is its the only one in the town!) and its all beginning to get on top of me.

theres not alot anyone can do, I suppose if anything when I've gotten through all this, we'll all be better off as I'll have some qualifications under my belt (I only have my school grades at the moment which are, well, average!) and Rachael will get to play with others beside Chixiie and I and make some friends, its just all the stress that we'll all be under for the next 2/3 years while Chixie and I study...

<3 Hang in there. I'd volunteer to take care of Rachael for ya if you weren't so very far. ^^ I love ze kiddies, that's for sure.

But, yeah. As hypocritical as this is, given how often I've threatened to quit university myself-- stick with it. You can do it, and you'll make a better life for both yourself and your family. ^^

I'm with legend on this one: stick with it and one step at a time...

It seems with parents attending school at such demanding levels then you'd be a likely candidate for the day care...so I should think it would work out. I hope so!
