Well, I said I thought it would be announced at E3, and if this ad is true, it truely is!

As analysts, publishers and gamers have continued to wonder when (and if) Sony would issue a price drop for the PlayStation 3 in the near future, a mere advertisement may have confirmed it. The DVD Talk forums discovered an early copy of a Circuit City flyer promoting a $100 price break on PS3 starting on July 17th, bringing it down $499.
Later, Kotaku actually discovered the ad and scanned it online. When 1UP originally approached Sony Computer Entertainment America about the price drop, we were told: "Circuit City hasn't announced any price drop on PS3, so we have no comment." After a little prodding, that turned into: "That CC flyer is just a rumor, so we don't have anything else to comment on regarding it."
When that "rumor" turned into a viewable scan, however, Sony declined to comment, but GameDaily cites an anonymous "merchandising manager at one of the world's biggest retailers" that the price drop is not a Circuit City exclusive and will become official soon. Did some folks on the hunt for the latest deals end up spoiling one of the companies' big E3 surprises? Soon, we'll find out. |

Yeah i saw this last night, but then i saw this this morning...

I think it will still happen.
This is just a retraction statement so they don't sell ZERO consoles between now and then. |

Makes sense, if everyone knows that a 100.00 price cut is coming...no systems sales for the next few weeks. No system sales=no accessory sales= no new title sales except for the PS3 owner already.
Just wish Sony would get their act together on this. |

"UNCONFIRMED: PS3 price drop is getting close! According to various sources, Sony will announce a $100 price drop for PlayStation 3 in North America next week at E3, the price will go down to US$499 (or $549 in Canada)."
But shouldn't this come with a killer app to ensure success? I mean, sure people will buy some more but drop this with something big and you also dent the other guy's sales. |

Ninja Gaiden Sigma just came out and it's incredible.
Lair comes out very soon.
Then end of August and September are filled with titles.
This Fall is going to be a PS3 fall! |

I thought you didn't care for Ninja Gaiden?
As for the price drop, $499 seems like a better price, but I still won't pick it up until I see the titles that interest me (and right, NGS, Lair, and Heavy Rain are it for now)...especially after buying a Macbook Pro.
Whether it is a full blown price cut or just Circuit City trying to get their stock out, we will find out. |

Well I still own the original NG for the Xbox. But the camera in it was HORRIBLE. They released some sort of fix for it, but I didn't have Live, so I couldn't get it. Black came out and I just wasn't ready to buy it again.
Then I played the demo. The camera still has it's issues. The Do it yourself camera sucks, but it's not as bad as it was in the original. After I played the demo, I went back to the Xbox one... and honestly, I was spoiled by the Demo. I couldn't play it b/c Sigma just looks so much better.
So it was never that I didn't care for the game I just never played it all the way through b/c the camera was infuriating. I recognized it as a great action game, I just wish the camera had worked for me the first time around.
I do still get annoyed with the camera on Sigma.
