I don't know if anyone has played this game or post about it. It's a pretty awesome game for PC.
I just got it last weekend for $40 with a friend of mine and it is totally worth it. It's by some of the people who made Diablo. The game is a mix of PSO/Guild Wars/Diablo.
PSO in the sense that is based in the future and you get a bunch of loot and you have to pipe to town to sell. (Yes, they have a telepipe type item) Also, you can play online or offline.
Guild Wars part has to do with the loot. Only you get loot in your eyes. All the loot that you see is for you. Every character get its own loot which makes it cool so people aren't fighting over stupid loot.
Diablo, well, it's all instanced as well, but it has a lot of Diablo references. Like the kid with the wooden leg is in this game. (How? I do not know...)
In any case, the premise of the game is that in 2038 a darkness came to Earth and took over, but humans fought back, only to lose. Then 30 years later, Earth forces are trying to fight back and win back Earth. This is where you come in. You must fight the forces of evil and travel to Hell in the process to destroy the evilness in the world.
It's a more action oriented MMO. You CANNOT press a button to auto attack. You have to either keep your button pressed, or press it multiple times. (Which I like, because it keeps you on your toes)
You have 3 factions and 2 classes in each faction.
Templars
Blademasters - Straight Melee type character that is based on damage output.
Guardian - Is the basic tanker. Damage output is not as high as the Blademaster, but the intake is pretty high.
Hunters
Engineers - This class can make robots and other mechanical stuff to aid on their battle. Their defense is not very high, but damage output is high. Also, they use long range weaponry. (Rifles, snipers, guns)
Marksman - Marksmen are long range damage dealers.
Can't remember the 3rd faction
Summoner - Basic pet/healer type.
Evoker - Nuker/Mage type
The game is very interesting and addicting, at least for me. And if has FREE Online play. You can become a subscriber for $9.99 a month, but it only gives you some extra events, more bank space and being able to make guilds. As of now, I don't see the paying to be of any use. We'll see after we reach the end of the Campaign.
There's only 1 US sever and 1 EU server.
For those who want to play with us, we play in the US server.
Toons are Aiman and Sputnik13. (Sputnik is a friend of mine) He has another toon, I just don't know his name. And I'm about to make an Evoker too. |
