I LOVE LOVE LOVE Johnny Depp and Tim Burton pairings. Add to the fact you have Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter (Burton) and Sacha Baron Cohen. |

Yeah, I saw the trailer for this yesterday. Looks like it's actually a musical, too. I really hope Burton doesn't hold anything back, otherwise I'm not sure how else this movie will work. |

The latest broadway revival of the demon barber of fleet street incredibly fun with Neo-Gothic styling and a palette of black, white, grey, and red.
Between Sweeney Todd and Devil in the White City, Johnny Depp's going to be makine serial killers sexy for a while. (Though Dexter did it first) |

I can't believe anyone else is actually interested in this. I don't know many folks that have even heard the name Sweeney Todd. This has got to be my all time favorite musical! I haven't seen any trailers for it. Is it going to be a musical rendition, or straight up suspense?
If you haven't seen the show before, there are a few very good versions on DVD. Just check it out. It'll get you even more pumped to see Johnny Depp play Mr. Todd.

Ok, I just saw the trailer. I'm still excited about it, but I'm not sure how well Johnny Depp will play Todd. He's too....charming. Sweeney is a very dark, brooding, excitable character. I'm sure it'll be a great flick. I guess we'll just have to see.
BTW, it looks like Edward Scissorhands took up musical theater.  |

This movie does, indeed look interesting. We saw the trailer when we saw Beowulf.
