Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
If I could teach whole wide world..
I would teach them to be of peace and harmony.
That these times are not for war and the horrors that come
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
I STAY HI BECAUSE I'M TIRED OF WATCHING THE WORLD DIE!
I stay hi because the world blows.
No one is good anymore, all I see is evil inside.
All I see is death and pain in the land we live in.
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
I STAY HI BECAUSE I'M TIRED OF WATCHING THE WORLD DIE!
I stay hi cuz the world we know is coming to an end.
As if it ever started, it's just full evil of mankind.
No one cares that kids die tonight, that the world will erupt with all the bullshit corruption.
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
I STAY HI BECAUSE I'M TIRED OF WATCHING THE WORLD DIE!
I stay hi so I don't have to watch everything die.
More like so I don't realize 'till it's my time.
To numb my senses, so I don't feel the pain I hide inside.
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
Why do I stay hi?
I STAY HI BECAUSE I'M TIRED OF WATCHING THE WORLD DIE!
If I could teach whole wide world..
I would teach them to be of peace and harmony.
That these times are not for war and the horrors that come |

Not really my type of thing. But here's a couple of things.
First, I do you mean "high" or is that a play on words since "hi" is just used for a short version of "hello."
Also, It's just kinda depressing and emo.
Last, the first thing that comes to mind is obviously staying high by artificial means. So what this is saying to me is "stay high b/c the world sucks" which to me is a weak way out of responsibility and life to which I would say... get over it.
Just my opinion man. Maybe I'm missing your intentions. |

not to jump on the band-wagon (or the beginning of the wagon), but it is a bit depressing, ad not very uplifting.
When I first read it, i thought you meant to say "I say hi..." since i know you have a history with grammar, but i realized that I'm just a pompous dummy sometimes, and read everything through. But shino is right about the whole using the word "hi" instead of "high," and how it can be a bit misleading.
all in all, it's ok, but it's just kind of a rant, with a poetic license - we all know how hard life is, and how crappy the world is...you're just stating the obvious. Tell us something new. |

Not to be Capt. Obvious but I would say this should be in the Poet's Nook anyway.
I liked the overall tone of it as we share some views but not my thing as a whole either. I'm kind of past that portion of my life (using & thinking the world sucks). Shino and I see things differently as far as the shirking responsibility thing here but he and I have had that conversation before and it ultimately stalemated, as it should have.
People that comment on things without knowing first hand are as informed as a man can be about women. They have the information but no first-hand experience so in effect, no knowledge. Information without knowledge is dangerous and unfortunately, a way of life that we all must employ to some degree.
Only you know what it's like to see things your way so you must ultimately trust that.

Yes, it is rather depressing this is true, most of work is. I let out my disappointment and anger out through poetry. I would side with you Shino on that it is a weak way out if in the sense that you don't do anything about it. It's more for the reason that I longer want to notice the corruption but I still do my part. Also, it was my understanding that phrase "im high" was spelled(for my area at least) as 'hi' and not 'high' . On a side note, lay off my grammatical history. thanks for your comments though |

But it's too easy to nail ya for it
I'm kiddin buddy. I just remember what one of my teachers said about writing in a specific dialect, and that is to realize that the only people that will understand are the people that know that dialect, and that can range from a small community, to half a nation. It you only want a group that small to understand what you are writing, then that's fine - it is what you want. But if you're trying to get a bigger message across a larger audience, then you have to use the more common of language. Look at Ernest Hemingway: The man would write, then would go through and pretty much remove all semblance of Adjective and Adverb, essentially making his sentences raw and completely driven by only nouns and verbs. It allows anyone to pick up a book and say "Well, I may not know what exactly it's like to have a big lion in my dreams, but I have the license now to let it happen in my mind."
Although, both you and I are not Hemingway, it's food for thought. Good luck kid. |

My comment was that getting high through artificial means (illegal substances) is a weak way out. It has nothing to do with whether or not you do anything about it... but... stereotypically... if you get high, you don't do anything about it. If that is not the case... well then I guess the only real problem is the getting high part. |

I had to reread it at first b/c like some others, it looked like it said "Why do I say hi?"
Its just not my cup o tea man, but the structure and formatting work for it. |
