Tires - Holy crap they are expensive

I called around for new tires on my car. Man, the cheapest I could find a set of 4 215/50R17 was an H speed rated Dunlop tire for $120 a tire. And that is before they put all the services and stuff on there...

it added up to like $630.

Jeez. What the fudguck!

You should sign up for a Costco card. They gots some cheap ass tires yo. Only $35 a year to save $200. (I got this estimate based on my cheapo tires from Sears cost me $300 and the better tires that Costco sold me would have been like $30 each.)

Sears whas the only place that had Good tires for my car. I won't by cheapo tires.

Big problem...

I actuallyy got a flat on the way to Huntsville, AL yesterday. I couldn't believe it. I got a flat in Summerville GA. Where the hell is that you ask. It's one of those towns where everyone knows everyone else and the only car dealership in the whole place is a Kia dealer. Afer inspecting the wheel, I noticed that the tire was not damaged, the rim was. It was like that before but it didn't leak air.

Luckily I found these really cool country folk. : Wink

The tried banging in the gap of the rim where the air was coming from, but there was still some air leaking from it. So they gave me a wheel and a tire... FREE! hell yes it was free. they put it on the car and then sent me on my way. How cool is that. The wheel isn't the same style and not the same size, but it is close.

My car:
215/50 R17
Wheel given to me:
205/55 R16

So it was virtually no difference in the feel of the car. So I'm going to go back to Sears this weekend and bitch and try to get a new rim out of them.

Rims for my car are ~$330
I'm not looking to pay that.

well I went back to sear's and showed them the wheel and explained what happened.

Without knowing how to explain the situation... The Manager finally asked me if I knew how much that wheel runs. After helping him pick up his Jaw off the ground... ($325 for one wheel from the dealer) he proceeded to call his contacts for wheels... they were not there on Sundays so he is supposed to call me today with some info.
