X-Men - Did they even READ the comics?

Ok, to start off I'm APPALLED at the Title of X-2...It's "United" for those who don't know. The movie has been done for 6 months and its taken them THIS long to come up with the name "United" ESPECIALLY when this movie is supposed to reveal more of Wolverines past (Which makes no sense since they already Fugged up Sabertooth to the point where half Wolverines life is null and void).

Now onto other thigs. ICEMAN was an ORIGINAL X-man...Someone PLEASE tell me how he is a CHILD that is YOUNGER than Cyclops who was a MUCH later X-man?

And Storm was ALWAYS an older African woman who was friggin tall not some short ass loser lady. And since when was Magneto like 60 years old and SHOWING his age...In the comics he was one helluva buff ass bastard that STAYED buff until his demise in Age of Apocalypse.

Speaking of Apocolypse since when did Mystique fight FOR magneto? And where are her clothes and WHERE'S Apocolypse?!

Now Night Crawler...This one pisses me off most cause he was a fave char. Night crawler when he Foom'ed (Puff of smoke) the smoke was rather smelly which made people mad when he used his power. AND Night Crawler didn't have enough control of his powers to Foom into a kick then Foom into a punch and etc. until a god damn Matrix like army was dead and buried.

And Rogue ddin't enter the X-men till AFTER she could fly and AFTER Mystique adopted her! Now she's some panzy piece of crap instead of the super-strong death machine of Yore.

Since when did Lady Death-Strikes Claws retract? Someone answer me that? I recall her being a FAILED project after Weapon X to instill Adamentium into humans. So how is it that she's a perfect being?

And since when did Wolverines claws turn into Knuckle blades? I seem to recall them coming out the top of his hands and being rather thin. Ganted I LIKED the Wolverine they chose cause he has a square head which works out. But where's BUB? He said it ONCE in X-men 1 when in every comic or waterver he ALWAYS said Bub. It's an atrocity I tell ya.

Oh and back to Ice-man..Umm he was black. That kid was white? Whee'd that come from? And Jubilee was white but in the movie she's black. The hell?

I BET you all that when Juggernaught makes an appearance in X-2 (I think I saw him in the preview) they'll say he's an ultra-powerful MUTANT! Even though as we all know Juggernaught isn't a mutant but a magically enhanced human. And I BET you he'll be working for the human hating magneto to help Mutants RISE even though he hates mutants with a passion since Professor X was his step-brother.

Also, since when was Magneto WILLING to give lowly humans mutant powers? He felt they were a step forward in evolution and the humans were merely people who didn't evolve he WANTED equal rights not to kill em all and where's the witty dialogue with Xavier? Magneto was a separationist. He wanted them to be separated from the humans. (If you recall X-men was Stan Lees voice against Racism. Basically it was written back when separation was common. He made it so that the humans hated mutants for being different but at the same time he made put in that the mutants didn't appreciate the humans that much either. And when Magneto joined the X-men it was a symbol that racism CAN be fought but I'm sure the movies can guage that too.)

Anywho, felt like posting..Feel free ta rebutle unless of course ya actually do rebutle..At which point I'll tear ya a new corn-shoot.

Well not that I don't feel your pain but there are a few points you erred on:
Both Iceman and Cyclops were original X-Men so they should be in the same age bracket.
Storm (Ororo) is older but not exactly an "older" woman. Not like she's 60 or something. She is supposed to be like 6 feet tall tho...and a bit more intimidating than Halle Berry.
Iceman was Black? I hope I'm reading you wrong here. Bobby Drake was always White. There were no Black people when X-Men was started...just like in the 50's. LOL
Juggernaut has worked with magneto on several occasions in the comic book even tho he's not a true mutant. His one obsession has always been with Xavier tho.

I never bothered to rip apart the first movie solely because there was too much ammunition. Comic movies are never accurate to the books (go figure) and if we can excuse the leather biker look that X-Men used then why picj out anything else? Storm came along (with Nightcrawler, coincidentally) way before Rogue and way after the original team formed (I keep seeing issue 94 or 98 in my mind as a timeline tho I know the real first appearance was in the Annual). I think I also noticed Cannonball and some of the New Mutants in the preview also, who came along way, waaaay after. Jubilee was even after them, for cryin' out loud.

Look Az, this movie isn't for fans of the comic. It's for readers of the past few (2-3) years and Summer Action Movie Fans. DD was more atrocious for me (having owned all but 7 DD books at one time including a Miller signed "Death of Elektra" issue) and I expect Hulk to be worse, actually. X-Men made money and Spiderman was actually kinda good considering (even tho they totally screwed up his timeline deleting Gwen Stacy). One factor you gotta look at is that they have roughly 2 hours to recap maybe 2 decades when they make a comic book movie. It'd also be nice if an actual FAN of the books was hired for once.

Hey, what are we gonna do? Make our own?

Hmmm...Pocket Otaku the movie...Nah, we'd all be wearing leather and they'd turn Doot and Shino into 'consultants'.

Of Course it's not for the comic readers..But still..

Magneto Shouldn't be THAT old (Even though her actually IS that old but still)

Sabertooth should be MUCH more Sabertoothy AND have the ability to form those things..What're they called? WORDS?!

And the Ice-Man thing maybe he wasn't black..I might be thinking of that other ice guy from DC.

And Spider-man did a fairly good job with the movie..Why? Because it was directed by a guy that actually KNEW the comics. I mean Jean Luke Picard or whatever never even HEARD of the X-men till he was cast as Xavier. Granted his performance was rather good anyway.

But with them flashing to Wolverines past they COULD have made the second movie a Weapon X recap which woulda ruled SO much ass since Wolverines past has always been blurry. (Course now they have Wolverine: Origins. So now we can actually find out EVERYTHING about Wolverine.)

Woulda been better if Stan Lee Stepped up and said, "Wolverine's background is an enigma wrapped in a tortilla."
Press, "Umm, what does that mean."
Lee, "It means I was fuggin drunk when I came up with the idea and that other guy that the writer of my dialogue can't remember right now did everything..I was too busy shooting my own personal spider webs if ya follow me."

lol...i have to say that i think that X men the first movie was a kind of dissapointment. AZ did bring some interesting mentions to the story, and how the casting was not that great...but seriously, where are you going to find a 60 year old dude that can put arnold shwartzeneggar to shame??? so what if some of the casting wasnt that great...its a movie...ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!! and with the story, i doo have to agree, that the story was a little disaapointing, where i thought it was going to be much cooler. As for the origins idea, i think that if the next Xmen was based on Wolverine's past, it would be much cooler, cuase it would be kickass...oh well, im gonna stop ranting, cause i dont even know wehre my head it...oh wait...there it is. DAMN IT!! ITS ROLLING DOWN TEH STAIRS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly can't believe I'm hearing this. I've been reading comics ever since I could read. My older brother has colected comics for years. We're both BIG X-Men fans and we loved the first movie. We both do agree about Storm, but we know they can't make it 100% acurate to the comics. You guys need to stop picking apart the movie and actually enjoy it. You guys are sounding like diehard fanboys, and I don't think anyone wants that.

Pffft, picking apart movies is too fun.

Plus the way they ended the first movie they made it look like Wolverine was going back to Weapon X. But in the previews for the second movie he's still hangin out at MUT (Mutant University Tech...hehehe). So my question is, did they simply ignore the first movies ending? Or is he just gonna appear at the research center and go, "Hey...Stuff." then walk away?

Is it just me or would Angela Bassett or Iman been a better choice for Storm?

I actually rememebr talking to friends about the casting. How can you pass up Danzig as Wolverine?! I mean seriously!

Of course Patrick Stewart would have been the choice for Prof. X.

Iman probably would have been cause she's more Tribal-esque.

But Storm never really did anything for me anyway. I was thrown off by her small petitness in the movie plus I think storm like COMMANDED nature not just like "Poof, lightning." She'd go on them long tirades about swirling winds and burning bushes or whatever.

But the main focus of this here rant SHOULD be how the hell they came up with the title "X-men- United" after 6 months of diliberation! Of COURSE they're united I mean look at the first movie all the X-men helped one another even though they have differences in opinion. What's the big deal on being United? Why couldn't it be "X-men- Children of the Atom" (Hey! I actually liked that game) or "X-men Magneto's Revenge" Or "X-men Strike back" "X-men Return of the Muties" "X-men Teenage mutant ninja Teenagers" "X-men We're just not trying anymore" or hell stick with "X2" I actually PREFERRED that title. Anywho...Ummm, Stuff.
