Dilemma - That thing called money

Right, well, at the beginning of the summer I was to find this elusive thing known as a "job." I looked. No results. If anything people were getting laid off, and the only jobs hiring I could tell would drive me insane.

So instead I was to work on the website for my dad's business... Surely that'd pay, as I earned a nice chunk of change last winter for another website I did...

...The whole summer's gone by and he hasn't given me anything to work on yet.

Results?

I've been working on my music and playing games all summer long, if anything spending money as opposed to earning it. I earned a hundred doing updates for that previous site, but that still isn't enough..

Why do I bring this up?

AWA. Despite going to another convention just months ago, AX, I've been wanting to go to this one and looking forward to it for quite a while. Over the year or less I've been here I've gotten to know a good handfull of you really well and it's always been awkward being one of the few staff members that lives elsewhere and doesn't know everyone. I figured it would be lots of fun to come this year, meet everyone, and what have you.

Dilemmas involved:

Money - I personally have very little. What makes it even more inconvenient is the current situation my family is in. While they don't want me talking openly about it, let's just say my parents are both artists with low income that can hardly pay to keep living in our house each month. I'm amazed they were even able to pay for my trip to AX in July, and I don't dare asking them for money at a time like this...

Timing - This is a lesser issue, but college starts up this coming Tuesday. Though AWA takes place over a weekend, I'd need to take off a day on either end of the weekend for flights, unless I wanted to take early morning and night planes. Considering how intense my college works, this would be rather difficult as far as catching up is concerned. But it's definately less of an issue to me than money...

And yeah, there's my problems in full. I don't really expect them to be resolved, as they hardly do.. but we'll see what happens. There's a month left before the con, but... Bleh. It's hard knowing you're constantly missing out on things, being left behind for whatever reason. Thanks for reading this rant-ness.

hey man, dont worry bout it. I know how u feel man, what with me never had met any of the members of the group myself. I would like to go to AWA, but alas, i have too many things i have to worry bout, such as being the leader of a boyscout troop, working with my school's culinary club to cater for our re-accreditation, and so on and so forth. That, and im just starting school, and i need to have my resources open for use at all time, and if i went on some excursion now, i think isa gonna get set back.

So ur not the only dude in the boat...uve got me and whoever is up here who doesnt live there
