So I'm new, and I should probably be a little less forward about making all sorts of posts and stuff, but, at the moment, I don't care

You know what I hate most in the world? Being sick. Or injured. Why? Because then people seem to feel that I can't do anything for myself. Or they leave me to do stuff for myself when I can't. That is..um. I like my independence. I'll always say "No, don't, I can do it myself" even if I can't, in most circumstances.

If I've a sprained ankle, then woe to any who attempt to lighten my load. But the problem with that is that when you -do- need people to do stuff for you..say when you've a fever and can't get out of bed, they don't bother even offering because they know you'll just say no.

Few exceptions to this being my sister and a very rare other person on occasion who will tell me to suck it up and just let them help.

Yes, this rant does come from the fact that I've currently got one of my infamous head colds. And am going into work two hours early tomorrow. Oh yay. Head cold -and- two extra hours of chasing after small children.

And dealing with administration who don't give a care about you.

ya...demonic is right...the admins on the board are the coolest people around, and they dont mind anything you say.

As for your sickness problems...its ok. Im kind of the same way. When i get sick, people want to always do things for me, and i am the type of person that likes doing everything by himself. But sometimes, i realize that i am not invincible, and that i may need the help of friends and family.

I know what you are talking about. when I was really sick and had to stay in bed I awlays asked people to do things for me. But, when I came home after my open heart surgery I wanted to do everything myself. I still think that I am invincable but I also know that everybody has their bad days.

Yeah the admins here aren't the evil hell-spawn I make them out to be..I mean uhhhh...Yeah.

Whenever I'm sick if I ask for help people just tell me to walk it off or something so I'm like you Shan I just kinda go about my day and military crawl to the bathroom when I can't get outta bed.

Hope you feel better soon, Shandriz. As for being sick and wanting to do things yourself, that's understandable. You get used to doing things yourself, and it feels out of place asking people for help. I'm like that, too. Right after my eye surgeries last year/this year, my mom had to help me walk so I didn't bump into things, wash my hair, and put in eyedrops. It was the first time I had to get help doing those things, and I wasn't used to that. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

I love bein sick! My woman tends to me every arm and foot. Like my own personal slave! But then again there's the potential threat of being punched in the arms really hard the pinching. God I hate hate the pinching.
