There are 10 fighters but I have only place for exponents of 2! I will therefore give away my place to let someone else in. Cobbi and Shino were the last to register. So with only one place, I flipped a coin and Shino won. Welcome to the tourney, Shino!


[CENTER]Heat 1: Gorty VS Jolly Roger[/CENTER]

This is it, folks. Tonight is our first heat of PO Wars, and we've got the meanest, fiercest competitors of Minopia rounded up here. In this tournament, mercy does not exist. Frienship is unknown. And best of all: surrendering isn't an option! SO ARE YOU READY FOR THE FIGHTS?!

*Yeeaaaaaaaahhh!!*

All righty! First off, for those new to the tournament, here is how the competition will be conducted. Each hunter has been drawn at random to fight against one another in one-on-one rounds. The winner goes through to the next heat. The loser gets to go home. After the Heats will be the Semifinals. The two winners duke it out for the championship title, and for the chance of winning the Metropolitan Star. The two losers will meet for a playoff to see who gets to grab the third place.

As well, we have some special little bonuses for the hunters who do exceptionally well. The Hammer is awarded to those who manage to kill their enemy without suffering a single hit, this one worth 30 bonus points to your stats. The Fist is won by hitting the enemy at the maximum possible damage you can attain, and it grants 15 bonus points to your stats. Finally, should you kill your opponent before your HP goes low enough for him to possibly kill you in a single hit, which we call critical condition, you will get the Shield, granting you 5 bonus points.

A master of drunken fighting and possibly one of the more powerful gnomes on this planet.

"In the Blue Square, representing Meto Gin Incorporated: Jolly Roger."

The cursed pirate captain full of riches, full of tricks and full of strategies!

"Fighters, stand by..."

The judges are standing aside from the closed-off plaza. Take note here: the arena is composed of a fenced-off square, through which no spectator is allowed to reach.
And now for the weapons: Gorty will be using a pair of blades that he bought off the street minutes before the beginning of the tournament.
And for Jolly Roger, it's the immense Skull Smasher Sword! One side left untempered on purpose to create some stylish blunt hits.

"Three, two, one, FIGHT!"

The crowd cheers at the sound of the bell, the two fighters get in stance. Gorty reaches out for a tentative swing but Jolly Roger pushes the weapon away. He tries to sneak in the first hit too, no luck though, missing his opponent by a mile here...

The gnome tries to cut his opponent's arm before he retracts but the swing is too late and he swings right into the ground! The pirate, having an advantage, swings his heavy sword down and SMASHES Gorty to the ground for 433 damage!!

The gnome is pinned by the sheer force of the hit! Roger strikes down again just as Gorty rolls away; too slow though, he gets a further loss of 261 HP, but as he gets up he spins around and manages to cut a gash in Jolly's stomach, worth 275 damage!

Jolly seems surprised by the hit because he doesn't move away-- The gnome continues his spin and CATCHES his opponent again, this time for 274 damage! There you go, the pirate's woken up now, and he swings his sword at the gnome just as he finishes his spin, and Gorty is SLAMMED into the side fence!!! 409 HP lost, major ouch!!

Jolly dashes forth for another hit but his swing strikes the air and through the fence, missing a spectator by a hair! Gorty takes the advantage and swings one of his daggers but the pirate blocks him with his hand and pushes him away while he takes a better position...

Gorty, furious, comes in and dashes for a double stab. Jolly Roger is ready though. He rolls up his right sleeve and HOOKS the gnome on the fly, followed by a giant kick, sending Gorty to the other end of the arena!! 410 damage dealt, Jolly Roger now has twice as much HP as his opponent!!

The pirate is in shape today, and as Gorty stands up, he heel hammers him back down for 428 damage!!! The gnome has gone under the 1000 HP bar, this is looking really bad for him!

Jolly Roger takes some time to grin at his opponent. Gorty, from his down position, slices ahead and catches the pirate in the leg for 274 damage but Roger doesn't move from his position!

The pirate motions Gorty to hit again! The gnome stands up and stabs with all his strength into Roger's stomach for a further 275 damage but Jolly doesn't care, and he hammers his opponent down on the ground again for 395 damage!! Methinks the fate of the battle has been decided!

Gorty stands up, tackles Jolly Roger for 275. The pirate is pushed back, clutching his stomach - he didn't like this one, and there he goes, kicking Gorty in the stomach for a loss of 220 HP on the gnome's side, putting him into critical condition!!

The pirate walks in to take the kill but Gorty scurries between his legs and attempts to catch him from the back! Jolly Roger is too quick for this one though; all he has to do is take a few steps forward to be out of range from the little man.

Gorty grins... AND THROWS ONE OF HIS BLADES!! The pirate didn't see this coming and he gets this one right through the lung for 275 damage! Furious, Roger pulls the knife out and throws it back, but it's clear he's not the champion at blades!

The gnome has one last chance to go at it; he throws both blades forward but Jolly just has to place himself sideways to avoid the attack! His sword raised high, he slams it on the ground for his signature Samdworm Slash, causing a huge linear explosion on the ground, passing right through the gnome and BLOWING HIM TO SMITHEREENS!!!

Jolly Roger wins with an amazing 1352 HP left!

Excellent fight for both of them, but unfortunately, only one can live for the next fight... And therefore, Gorty goes to the medics and then back home. As for Jolly Roger, he's through to the semifinals!!!

OMG, that reminds me of the long gone ages of Deathmatches, back on PSOW, god I missed that time, I'm glad it has returned in some sort of improved way!

BTW I have the same setup at PSOW in case you hadn't noticed already. There, I'm down to 3 more fights to do. One final, a playoff for third place, and the grand finale.
