When I first started watching NGE I couldn't understand why everyone loved her when Azuka was so kewl...Then Azuka got all depressed and rescessive and wanted to kill herself while Rei full well knowing she was a clone (ruined the series with that one sentance) wanted to ALWAYS go on fighting for life even thought the had multiple cuncussions, broken bones, and was missing an eye...Damn, rambling.

Yeah... there are SO many biblical references in NGE. It's pretty crazy. And not just the big stuff like "Adam" but the small stuff like the names of the three creators of the Evas: Melchior, Gaspar and Belthazar, the names of the three wise men. Then you get into Revelations references and oh man! It's all over from there! Not to mention Lilith, the Lance of Longingness.... So many things.
