It is the most untrue phrase, I tell you! Rabbits only breed when you don't want them to. The second you want them to have cute little bunny children, they become worried about their maidenly honour.
Rabbit: "Me? Give up my virginity and have a litter? Why, what a lewd suggestion!"
Me: "Please? I need babies! How else can I be a rabbit breeder?"
Rabbit: "I don't know, but don't look to me to get rabbit babies from. I am NOT that kind of doe!"
* Doe: A female rabbit.
I swear! That conversation may as well have happened! I got TWO litters this entire winter! I almost lost both of those litters because the mothers decided to have the babies on the cage wire instead of in the nice nestbox I put in for them.
What ever happened to survival of the species? I think my rabbits want to become an extinct species! |
