I'm so looking forward to seeing this movie. What a great year for movies this was. SWE2, Spiderman, LOTR, Star Trek Nemisis. Whoohoo.
Did anyone see the LOTR preview. I think one went on Tuesday here in Atlanta. Was it as good as FOTR?
And can you believe there are actually people out there that wanted the name changed b/c of 9/11!!!
Come on people. It's the name of the book. It has been the name of the book before the twin towers even went up. I am very sorry about the happenings of 9/11 and I simpithize with all the people that had loved ones in the towers, but I don't think it is insensitive to name a movie after it's book, no matter what the name.
OK so I've kinda made this 3 different things to talk about in one. Feel free to respond to any or all of them. |

1. Yes, it has been a good movie year! Lots of great flics out there!
2. I have seen the Two Towers preview and it looks VERY cool! I can't wait to see it!
3. I agree. The idea that you should change the name of a movie based off a classic novel, one that is firmly entrenched in our culture, a by word for many, known by all, loved by many, just because of something that happened in current events because people claim that it's INSENSITIVE? If there is anyone who thinks that then they are either a cultureless boob who grew up in a box (a small box) or they are the biggest blowhards on the planet! The arrogance! Shino's right, that's been the name of the book since BEFORE the Twin Towers EXISTED! It can't be "insensitive" because it has absolutely no bearing on what happened WHATSOEVER! And people that think that it reflects insenitivity are really more guilty of that charge than anyone else.
Wow, that was a rant, wasn't it. Sorry folks!

Thanx Sperrit.
What I meant about the preview was that they had an early viewing here in ATL on Tuesday... appearently. SluggerGirl had gotten tickets, but I just couldn't bring myself to miss 24. |

Wow, I never thought I could hate Shino so much...hehehe You passed up Lotr: TT Man, you must be like insane or something.... This flick has ENTS in it! Sperrit should love them living tree Ents. That was my favortie part in the second book was them Ents exacting their revenge on the goblin hordes for tearing down their brotherin.... Anywho, this flick will rule and if it doesn't then a space time rift will open and the world will end anyway so ya don't haveta worry bout it no more. |

Of this French and Sauders I know little. Probably, again, cause I have no TV up here. Oh, the sorrow!

Two Towers: Oh. My. God.
the first time i saw the preview was at Die Another Day, i swear it felt almost as good as reading the book itself. every scene reminded me of the images i had while reading it, Jackson has done SUCH a good job making the vision of the book a reality.
then i saw it again before Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets, i totally forgot i was there to see a movie. i mean, i was looking forward to HP almost as much as TT, but that preview is just so incredible, it was like a movie all by itself...
i think i have a problem; as in, i might be addicted to the Two Towers preview. and it's not healthy: i keep seeing commercials for it, every single time i end up convulsing in spasms of joy...oh good lord, less than a week! i can barely contain my excitement!
>>lurches around the room, limbs twitching violently, goofy grin of jubilation on his face<<
i know you all are jealous of me because i get to see it with Bryan and Cal since we'll all be home by Wednesday! actually, i secretly know that you're jealous of them since they get to hang out with ME (yeah, riiiight). don't worry, i won't let them know. |
