Hanging by the door of the Kilted Wench, there is a sign. It reads as follows:

Wanted: Hero. Inquire within.

A small door is printed on the sign, with a handle about the size of a small thimble. The quality of the printing is such that the door seems to move everytime there is a slight breeze.

"Crazy... Though, I guess that if someone needs a hero...."

Tobias looks over at the fresh new post on the board. Going next to sperrit, he shrugs: "Why not." Tobias stands around there, waiting to find the man who put up the advertisement

Demonic happens to be lounging upon the Kilted Wench's roof. Upon hearing the conversation below, he drops down, landing on all fours, and then rises, looking around.

"It says to inquire within."

Demonic inquires within.

The small door on the poster, visible only to Demonic's eyes, opens slowly and silently. Demonic finds himself in blackness, and endless, sightless, soundless shadow. Words flash into his mind, Choose a direction, and walk.

To the eyes of bystanders, Demonic's eyes are far away, as though he's staring deeply into the woodwork of the wall of the Kilted Wench. Other than that, there is no visible change.

OOC: Specify a direction, in terms of Cardinal. You are facing North.

Demonic blinks, looking around through the blackness, to no avail, what with it being blackness and all. When the voice speaks, he places hands on his hips, remembering what his father told him.

Follow Polaris, and you'll always get where you're going.

"No Polaris here, dad," he murmurs. "Lots of help you are." He lifts his hands from his hips to cross his arms, and then turns towards the southwest, and begins to walk.

The direction feels right, and soon he can see two things in the distance. He is equidistant from them, and each one deviates from directly southwest. Directly southwest, there is a door. He cannot see it clearly yet, but somehow, he knows that on it is the word, Salvation.

Azurel walks up to the small group of people and looks around until he finds the sign. Not noticing Demonic's blankness, Azurel reads the sign. He ponders for a while at the word "Hero," but decides he doesn't care how people regard him as long as he gets to fight. He looks down at the door and twists the small doornob.

"Salvation," he mouths. I'm beyond salvation.

He heads for the other object, the one that isn't the Salvation door.

Gunshots roar in his ears, and Azurel finds himself in the middle of a battlefield. Suddenly, he is staring down the barrel of an assault rifle. The soldier holding it screams at him in a harsh, gutteral language, barely discernable from the general melee of the battle. Soldiers are brawling and shooting atop solid, stone-like streets, streets that run in a grid-like pattern. Massive buildings of solid metal tower hundreds of feet above the ground, creating the feeling that Azurel is in a canyon. The light is dim, twilight. One of the windows, high up in a building, is glowing a pale green, but none of the soldiers appear to notice it.
