Diary of Corporate Observances - The Working Stiffs Guide to the "Empire"

Some people gripe about their workplace. Me included, but I've come about a therpeutic outlet for my discontent and astonishment. So read on if you dare.

I spare no side stories, no buffer, in bringing this one to the table first. It would almost seem as though I'd be ruining any further reading by dropping the management in your lap at first but you will come to realize, this breed of office worker offers more than enough ample amusement than any other. So here we go.

Upper Management: Case Study 1 - New Fangled Technology

Inspired by the conversation exchange of "The lights on the copy machine are turned off, do you think someone unplugged it?" "Do you see the big red sticker that says 'Touch Screen to Activate Copier'?"

When upon entering such a prestigious marble hall of a skyscraping building each day you come to respect all things, all people, all transactions which help build the empire in which you are so graciously employed. You are enthralled, flabbergasted, in awe of the demi-gods in your midst who formed the very base of your perveyor of paychecks.

What brings this little corporate soldier joy is the maternal bliss of watching one of these Masters of Marketing, Leaders of Law-making, Idols of Industry, approach a copy machine.

You can't help but coo at such a visual delight of a full grown man approaching a machine of duplication in such unabashed bewilderment and wonder, that of a young child learning to take thier first steps.

Arms spread wide, mouth agape, hesitant wobbling, and most of all, the puzzled look on their face at such an invention. You can't help but wonder what their minds are processing, but even still you watch with such a pride only befitting that of a parent watching as your child makes a life accomplishment.

The mashing of random buttons reminds me dearly of watching a toddler learn shapes by pushing wooden blocks through holes shaped like stars, squares and circles. The constant checking of what papers have been printed reminiscent that of playing peekaboo "Above the table - below the table, above the table - below the table".

It makes my heart swell to know that even though, within the hectic schedules of "How to dislodge this eraser from my sinus cavity" and "Does the red queen really go over the black king?", that this untouchable creature can be bothered to learn the devices of the trade, something they would usually pass on to their secretar... oops, I mean Administrative Assistants. Thus giving the rest of the working class a sneak peek, or reminder of what it is like to raise a child.

So I let out a content sigh at such a display because deep down I know they are grown adults, and essentially it shouldn't remind me of the early stages of life, you know, if it weren't for the drool.

cause all i see is blah blah blah copy machine blah blah blah eraser blah blah blah...so i mean if there is any way you could do that please post it.
